With millions of brilliant and original comic artists around the world, it's hard to make a name for yourself, but I believe Patrick Chang is on his way, if he's not already there. What makes his works distinct from others is the versatility and diversity of themes, structure and styles. While many artists struggle to find but one style, Cheng (originally) goes the other way, and offers a was array of comics that fit many differing tastes.
The artist gladly agreed to give an interview to Bored Panda. "I'm a professional artist, animator and motion designer that's been working largely in tech and advertising for the last 15 years. I've always loved drawing comics since I was a kid, and comics had been the place of inspiration for my professional career. I love making people laugh, and comics have been a great way to do that."
Accurate. No spoilers please! I'm still looking for my last few shrines.
i found all of them and i bet i kno which of the shrines u r looking for lol they r a bitch to get to

I will judge you based on the arrangement of bones in your face region, rather than how many dinosaurs you can name, weird science facts you know, poop jokes, how many worlds of Tolkien, Martin, Jordan, Pratchett that you have lived in."
I LOVE this twist on the "other girls vs me" trope! Like I love the acknowledgement that just because the "other girl" knows how to be hot and take selfies it doesn't preclude her from also being a gamer and that some of us are just daggy with no particular reason behind it 😭
So...just because she's "attractive" means she can't enjoy video games? Umm? Gatekeeping at it's finest.
Here's an illustration on what we mean when we say that Patrick Cheng is diverse. Sure, there are a few recurring characters, gags, or themes, but have you noticed how numerous they are? Among the topics there's feminism, parenting, science and technology, modern life commentary, generational humor, dark humor, gaming, fantasy, and many other topics that could generally be summarized as "random."
I tried to teach my dad new slang, threw poggers in there as a joke.....he then proceeded to text me saying hey hope everything's going poggers.....the thought melted my heart but the him saying it melted my eyes.
Lol once my teacher said "he's a little sus" and "he's the imposter" when we were talking about goddamn ANIMAL FARM

My dad did the same thing. Though he forgot to come back at dinner...
My dad left to get smokes, milk and cereal...I've been waiting 20 years for that bowl of lucky charms
this is y im happy my parents stay away from social media and stuff they dont kno any new slang terms. the fact that i never use the slang terms makes it much easier to deal with too. i like to sound like a normal person speaking proper english thank you very much.
Patrick explained the origin of the name. "The name CatTrigger comes from two parts: 1. I am allergic to cats, and therefore can't have them as pets. For a consolation prize, I drew this blue cat character when I was a kid. They kind of became a "mascot" for me. 2. When I was thinking of a name for the site, I made the decision to call it 'CatTrigger' as a combination of the cat mascot and 'Trigger' as in to 'start' something. That's how the name was used."

In terms of versatility Patrick Cheng goes further than just themes and topics, he's seemingly a master of many styles of comics. You may not see it here, but we highly recommend taking a glimpse at the artist's website or his Instagram feed, and you'll notice that there's a lot of different styles he likes to draw in. There are cutesy pastel bunnies right beside a sassy witch, who's right beside a comic with meta commentary about the artist. We didn't want to break your brain, so we decided to show you only one of his best styles that he mastered.
So if it's our free will to do things, be it good or bad. And we choose to do bad, who is accountable? When we choose to do good things, who is accountable?
We are. That is the definition of free will, Stephanie.
Load More Replies...As far as diseases go some were created by man. Some are naturally occurring from the earth itself. It's not like God is giving people diseases. Natural disasters are apart of weather. Everything we do on this planet, our actions either have a bad effect or good one. It's apart of our free will to choose what we do. No one is controlling us, not even God. I see more people blame him for the atrocities of human doing. Which is odd because if I myself choose to go out and harm another person. I am accountable and so many people even those that do not believe in a higher power. Blame God or mock him and say if he's real, what kind of god let's this happen? When God made it clear he gave us free will and does not want to control us or our decisions and behavior. But he hopes we do what's right and good and that is ultimately what any good father wants from his children. So all of the bad things would never be happening if we didn't do them in the 1st place. I just think some people want someone to blame so they can either get away with whatever it is going on. Or they truly just don't want to face how all the bad in the world is caused by humans. Because then it proves that God did indeed give you free will and isn't controlling you and you choose to cause the bad things that go on. It's hard to swallow all that and realize. That could be why people don't believe in God. Scared of the truth maybe? I don't know for sure and no matter what we believe. It's definitely interesting to discuss and think about. I'm open to all opinions and views, talking about stuff like this is just fascinating in itself. :)
As the late physicist Richard Feynman famously said, “I would rather have questions that can't be answered than answers that can't be questioned.”
Load More Replies...In terms of comics, Patrick, like many others, has been inspired by the all-time greats. "A lot of my humor and comic work stems originally from newspaper comic strips. A lot of Peanuts, Foxtrot, and of course, Calvin and Hobbes."Mr. Cheng told us about his favorite and least favorite parts of the comic creation process. "The best and worst parts of it can be interchangeable. Once I have an idea, much of it is just trying to figure out how it will 'look'.
Because I don't usually have a set of characters that I can draw every time in my comics, I try to find a new style or look to help encapsulate the 'story' of the comic.
It's a great challenge, and I sometimes try to work in styles I am not comfortable in, and that's where it can get difficult. But it also helps make me a more diverse artist.
And while it is difficult, it's also incredibly fun to figure out how to execute something I've never really done before."
That is not what imposter syndrome is. Imposter syndrome is when you don't feel you have earned or are worthy of your success.
Oh, nice to meet you Brant from Florida! I'm sure we'll get along swimmingly.
The artist also was kind to give some tips to the beginners out there. "Sometimes doing art comes easy, sometimes it doesn't. It's always good to set a goal on how much you want to accomplish over the course of the day or week.
Getting started can definitely be hard to do. But if you have a set "quota" you are determined to reach, it does push you over that ledge.
At least, that's how it worked for me."
Here's what he's been up to lately. "I have been starting to dabble more in game development, I just released a free horror game based on a comic I did last year on Itch.io that's free to download. I hope to develop more in the future."
im so glad the "your" was intentional because i was going to simply pass away
The pettiness on dude's face in the last panel is the embodiment of my entire personality 😂
This is literally what it's like at the unemployment centre.
Everything about work and the workplace environment is equal parts infuriating and depressing, if it's not already trying to literally put you in traction with a pittance they call pay, little to no real benefits of any kind and the expectation for us to work unpaid hours even if we've already been there 8-10 hours and being shamed if you choose life outside of work rather than being a corporate conditioned wage slave zombie. And they wonder why people quit en masse.
If you truly want to do something creative while making a living, start a business. It's one of the most creative endeavors you can do, and then you can stop blaming corporations for not valuing your "creativity."
"It is good for your image, you will get more exposure, it is an investment, the world does not owe you money for just working..."
Anyone hitting up artists to do commissions and trying to "pay" them with exposure. Instead of "The customer is always right", it should be "Nothing is free."
I read it as the royal guy from the progesso soup commercials.

Yeah. Everyone knows that. It is not a secret nor a surprise.
If this were me, I would destroy the machine, the blueprints, the factory that built it, the place it was tested in, and the person who tested it. Me. Cats are the only thing worth having here, so why ruin them?
The person who made this obviously has had bad experiences with cats. 😟 Cats can comprehend love like a dog can. Lol
As a cat person, I'd say we know this most of all.

It's intentional, usually used by unnecessarily didactic characters like this - especially when they're also wrong in their corrections.

I'll be completely honest, though these comics are really funny and I enjoyed reading them, I never got the 'other girls' thing. Over the years, girls have told themselves that they're 'not like other girls' because a lot of the media portrays that liking pink and shopping are not traits of a strong female character. All girls are beautiful and strong no matter what they enjoy.
yeah you’re totally right, it’s just a toxic mindset. why do girls have to attack eachother? they already get so much hate. what’s wrong with girls who like to take selfies and do makeup? nothing. and you aren’t ‘quirkier’ or ‘better’ for wearing hoodies & reading
