There’s never a dull moment when you own a cat. Sure, they spend plenty of time snoozing and lounging around, but you never quite know when they are going to do something cute, funny, crazy or maybe just a little bit evil.
Snapchat is a great medium to capture your feline’s foibles, because its highly visual and you can also tag your pics with a witty caption. Been there done that..so now i have 8 cats and counting but they did not come in the shelter for we dont have animal shelter here..i adopted them from the streets...

Every single one of my 13 cats are like this with my 6 year old daughter and myself. I've rescued all of my cats from outside due to them being abandoned by a******s and some were feral that I had to tame with a buttload of patience. I feel like when they hug us and cuddle, that they're saying "thank you for saving me and loving me".

OMG, the battle of finding my Orion. He was missing for over two weeks. The houses are similar looking here, and he ended up near a mile away by the hopstial. Thankfully, he’s stunning. Beautiful orange, brown spotted Bengal, so my frantic postering worked. Kept getting calls about him as I had offered a reward. Kids taking the pee and genuine cat lovers. Finally, exhausted (I don’t hav a car, so each call = long walk with carry case), midnight.. I saw the scruff and finally he replied to me. Skinny as hell. Nervous and scared. Thank god for dreamies.

aww.. it took several time for my shelter-cats to be comfy like that. I slept with them in the living room for 2 weeks. That was 10 years ago. They are both very snuggly now. But back then.. geez. I thought they would never start to trust anyone.

My shelter kitty slept on my chest/neck every night for a week before she decided neither one of us was going anywhere and she could sleep next to my pillow without worry. I love my sweet baby girl.

Cats know when someone needs them more. My 80 yr dad (70 yr mom) has my cat. Same thing, dad had surgery 2 years ago and was depressed. Brought my cat to cheer him up, and cat never left. They are the best of buds.

Some of you may question why they don't let the cats roam free... well it's most likely neighbours who shoots cats (like mine) or home owners association's threatening to call the p**n (also like mine) because God forbid the human overlords must set rules and standard for everything on earth including where animals should and should not roam.

One time my friends neighbor shot her cat but she wouldn’t do anything about it, once I heard about it I slashed two tires and keyed the words cat killer into the jerks new truck after I confronted him and basically scared the living s**t out of him. I don’t think he will be a problem around the neighborhood anymore.

Letting a cat roam is dangerous. What if they get hurt by another animal or hit by a car? I don't think roaming is the end all be all solution for all cats.

Well cats are more adamant about their freedom. They want to roam free, and some will complain all day if you don't let them. I know the struggle when neighbors/roads etc are unfavorable, but still keeping em indoors is not the best solution. There is some unfairness done to a wild animal. (Before anyone takes offense we do it as well with our cars at home.) And roaming can work very well, the best example is Istanbul: the vast majority of the cats roam the streets, have some reference places and the townspeople are taking care of them in general. These cats adapted to city life though, they now how to hunt in metropoles and avoid dangers / fight with other cats/dogs animals (this is natural tbh)

I had two cats with markings like this but more black and white. Pretty sure they were identical twins. The vet could not tell them apart. *shrug*. Sooo it doesn't seem rare to me....but it is a *very* small sample.

Bless HER extremely old little self. You guys know there's a VERY slim chance this cat is male? Most calico cats are female simply because the multiple coloring is linked to the "X" chromosome, so males can't handle three different colors. Male cats who are calico have a genetic mutation and are extremely rare. Just take a moment to look it up if you don't believe me. ;-)

Many cats love water, you can help this love of water along when they are young. When I adopted my kitten I slowly started introducing her to bathing, first I let her stand in an empty tub, then as the days went by started filling the tub with water and a few floating cat toys, now she never wants to leave.

Keep practicing and be ruthless with throwing out ones you don't like. Put dates on all of them, so you can see your improvement. And yes it is great photo. Also the more you photograph the animals / humans the more relaxed they will get around the camera. Good luck :)

It’s ok, you can get knee replacement surgery these days. The artificial knee joints only last for a maximum of about 20 years though, so you may need to have it redone, but I guess that’s just how it will have to be.

When we were little the back of the stove drawer had a 5 inch opening. My mom would always jump when she opened the drawer and my cat would be curled up in the spaghetti pot

I love shop cats! Almost every store I went into In New Orleans, down in the French quarter, had one or more cats lounging about. They were so wonderfully friendly - very 'Southern' hospitality !

My local SPCA charges money for each adoption, and even the local cat rescue group does the same. Neither group is making a profit, the money goes toward supporting the animals, but still technically you purchase the animals :) Ten years ago I paid $100 for my older cat from the SPCA, then three years ago I paid $50 for my younger cat from the abandoned cat rescue group.

The problem i was pointing at, is this cat is not from a shelter, it's a Bengal cat who cost thousands of $/€... Shelters charges the adoption (in France it's 100€ for sterilization, identification by chip, 1st vaccin and pest control -good translation?-). So you are not purchasing, you are covering vet costs.

Think about all those cats who are actually waiting for a family at a foster home. Selling and buying animals and pets is no better than selling and buying slaves. They're living beings, not objects. They are made to love and love doesn't have a price, it cant be bought anywhere. Adopt the ones who need you.

So that means that Maine coons, Burmese, rag dolls, Siberians and Norwegians and other cats that are naturally born fat, die young. WHICH IS NOT TRUE. My art teacher has a 20 yr old cat who looks like a furry melon. 20 for a cat is about 99 for a human.
