Remember animal panorama fails? These pictures are the opposite. They're as real as it gets.
The average cat is about 46 cm (18 in) in head-to-body length with a roughly 30 cm (12 in) long tail. And that's what we're used to seeing. However, there are breeds that are so far off these numbers, they look like mini lions. Or slinkies. Take the Maine Coon, for example. The title for the longest cat in the world belongs to one of these majestic guys. His name's Stewie, and The Guinness World Records confirmed that he measured 123 cm (48.5 in) from the tip of his nose to the tip of his tail.

My 10 year old (and quite heavy) cat sleeps like that, though instead of another cat he uses my leg. It's both cute and very uncomfortable ( for me))) I have no idea how he manages to breathe like this.

I loved when my cats did this. They recognized the sound of my motorcycle, watch out of the window until they saw me go to the door, and when I came in, they were lying there just like this, both, as if they'd been there and so for hours. Pretended waking up when I opened the door. Life without a long cat better is short and not ended by death!

This is just one reason why cats should remain indoors or have an enclosed cat run. So many cats get hit and killed by cars.

Our Kitty spent her first four years in a suburban/rural neighborhood where she was outdoors all day. Then we moved to a city townhouse on a busy street where she adapted, reluctantly, to being indoors all the time. She was bored and slightly manic until we rescued two stray kittens and brought them in. Now she had a job (teaching them who was boss) and gave up trying to escape whenever the door was opened. We all ended up in an apartment where Kitty lived comfortably to age 20 years. Cats are smart and adaptable. They can enjoy life with enough companionship and exercise, even in small quarters.
