This Funny Cat Named Zelda Takes Over Twitter With Her Funny Posts (45 New Pics)
Interview With OwnerWe love cats, especially when they have an adorably goofy look on their face and make us laugh with their antics. Curious Zelda the cat is a phenomenon on the internet. All because of two things: the permanently surprised look on her face, as well as the amusing and witty tweets its owner posts on the internet, alongside funny photos and videos of the feline.
We’d love to brighten up your day and make you feel all warm and fuzzy for the week to come, so we’ve collected some of the very best tweets by Curious Zelda. Scroll down, peruse (or rather purruse) the list of silly cat tweets, and upvote the ones you enjoyed.
If you know of anyone whose week needs improving, why not send them a link and let Zelda do the rest? And did you know that Curious Zelda has a book and an audiobook as well? Be sure to drop us a comment about what you think of the adorable cat and have a look through Bored Panda’s previous list about the perpetually surprised-looking cat here.
Bored Panda reached out to Curious Zelda’s owner to talk about the funny cat, to learn what it’s everyday life is like, as well as to find out what the inspiration behind making Zelda's social media accounts was.
“Zelda’s amazing facial expressions and puzzling behavior. She is interested in everything, finding so much to do in such little space. I always wanted to do something creative (although I didn’t realize it would be cat language poetry),” Zelda’s owner told us. Scroll down for the full meowtastic interview.

I miss our cat Lulu when seeing this. She was also adorable, mischievous, affectionate and very pretty. She's in kitty heaven now and we still think about her very often. She had a specific way of dealing with every family member and knew very well that my mom was in charge. You're very lucky to have Curious Zelda!
I play peekaboo, with my black cat, my other one sleeps a lot, but I am constantly entertained !!!
That's a sure fire way to end a friendship. Remember kids - don't eat your friends.
“The biggest challenge is getting clear photos of her — she moves around a lot! My camera roll is 99 percent Zelda and I’m happy about this,” her owner revealed the challenges behind taking such fun cat photos.
According to the owner, Zelda is either 8 or 9 years old because the animal shelter wasn’t sure of her age when she was rescued. “Zelda eats everything – she’s a scavenger and regularly steals stuff from the food bin. We rarely see bugs indoors because she eats them all, and she’s amazing at catching houseflies.
She frequently stalks us around the house. She knows how to play hide and seek, and can also catch a ping pong ball.”
its a rare neckless potato cat!!! only few have been seen remaining in the wild...
:-) Cats fascinate me. I rarely see any because my neighbour is a cat-killer :-( May all the Woes and bad things in the world come down on his head very s o o n I am a witch :-) !!!
Load More Replies...I love this one. Zelda is freaked by her revelation. Look at those eyes.
According to those eyes petting will be reciprocated with a little bite

Gorgeous! I also have a 'Tuxedo' cat, he's called Neelyx and he's 6yrs old. And a couple of months ago we got a Bengal kitten, he's called Ziggy and he's almost 5 months now! The difference between the 2 of them is astounding lol! Neelyx is so placid, totally neurotic and THE most nervous cat I've ever encountered. He puts the term 'Scaredy Cat' to shame, he is quite literally scared of his own shadow! And Ziggy is the polar opposite, he is like a whirlwind of pure energy lol! He's always got to be doing something, even if it's just bouncing up and down at a wall, he just needs to be moving! But the difference in Neelyx now that we have another cat is unbelievable! First week was a nightmare, we thought we'd made a monumental mistake, Neely-noo was not happy! But things changed after the first week and they are now best friends! They are just such wee characters, every day with them is an absolute blessing, and also hilarious lol!
“I guess it’s her resting startled face! She’s very innocent and cute cat, which suits her existential humor,” Zelda’s owner explained why so many people are fans of the feline. “We enjoyed writing the first book together — I’ll gladly go ahead with a second if Zelda’s not too busy! Whatever happens, I’m really enjoying the experience, and spending a lot of time with my cat!”
Curious Zelda’s owner encouraged everyone to adopt cats to “make everyone's lives better.”
As a college student who finally finished homework and went to sleep after my roommate's alarm had already gone off for her 8am class... I understand this feeling
Replace on the floor with in my bed, and this would be me, especially if it is raining outside.
Yes. It's raining here almost all day today (but I did get up to make some soup)
Load More Replies...You said adopt a cat, well, my two I adopted, my life is much better, lots of love and laughter !!!
We call this "meatloaf" when our (now deceased) cat used to do this!
She's a tribblekitty! I haven't had one of those in 30 years--mostly you can see their legs when they settle in, but a few can make them 'vanish' along with the tail.
Not if it were Mother-in-law's Tongue (also known as Snakeplant.) It paralyzes the mouth. Which is how it got the name... It's also long, sharp, and pointed, and is known in some circles as a century plant, because it was believed it only bloomed once a century. My cats killed mine by shoving until it fell off the shelf.
And wondering why you're upset. I mean you said you liked flowers.
More than 151,200 cat-lovers follow Zelda’s adventures on Twitter, eagerly awaiting the next photo, limerick, or goofy quote. What’s more, over 26,200 Facebook users are fans of the curious cat as well, while nearly 65,000 Instagram users keep up to date with Zelda’s daily posts.
In her book, Zelda presents her unique worldview and shares her wisdom on how to live life. Among other things, she gives advice on dating, cooking, living with human beings, as well as traveling. We like to believe that Zelda typed up the book with her itty-bitty paws (all the while staring at the computer screen with its amusing look). But odds are that her owner may have helped her write the book.
If my black girl did a bad, she just sits and looks innocent !!!
"Not me! It was the other cat! I don't care if you saw me do it!"
Load More Replies...My cat loves to catch spiders and bring them as a gift. She has a special chirping sound she makes while carrying them in her mouth before she spits them onto the bed/sofa. A fire alarm couldn't wake me faster than that chirping.
Load More Replies...Several decades ago, a cat came to our house to adopt us. She was outside the kitchen deck one morning and declared her intentions in the most assertive manner you could imagine. She was good with kids, terrible with dogs (our garden - Her Royal Realm) and a great hunter. She had a litter of kittens, and one day when they were maybe a month old, she brought them a mouse. A live mouse. To teach them to hunt. The kittens had no idea about what that was and weren't even interested. The mouse ran away. Mama cat brought it back, without disturbing a single hair of its fur. The kittens went this way and that, falling over their paws, biting a sibling's ear, but the mouse could just as well not have been there. So it ran away again and was promptly and gently brought back. After bringing the mouse to the kittens a number of times, they finally showed some interest. You could not possibly have seen a prouder mother than this phenomenal matron of a cat as she sat there watching her little ones.
Mine played with 2 to death, then hid them under the mattress (a futon on the floor) so they could maybe reanimate so she could chase them again. The third one she tried to eat. Ripped it open, decided she didn't like the blood, and left it on the bed. I even had to wash the pillows! Sheets, blankets, mattress...
Load More Replies...Trust me; mine didn't go out either! Aside from discovering I'd been sleeping on 2 dead mice for at least a week, that wasn't the best news I could have received!
Load More Replies...According to The New York Times, cats are much more popular on the internet than dogs and more people will click on posts about cattos than those about doggos. Some of this may have to do with the fact that felines are “solitary, asocial hypercarnivores” who want only one thing and that is to eat meat.
The New York Times argues that because cats are solitary creatures, they are ‘self-contained’ and looking at them through a TV, computer, or phone screen is much the same as admiring one in the wild (i.e. your living room). Meanwhile, dogs are different: they are extremely social and mirror our emotions, which is why it’s much more satisfying playing with a doggo in real life than looking at photos or videos of one online.
If not properly disconnected from the charging port, Your Zelda will malfunction.
During my lifetime, I have had a few dogs and cats, there is a considerable difference for sure, depending on your life style, a dog may be better suited for you, I no longer am able to have a dog, my rescues were awesome, I now have two rescued cats, I love them deeply, such fun, however I do miss having a dog, simply put, the difference is there, I love both !!!
The better to make sure your bed is *her* bed. 'Oh, you wanted to lie down? Go somewhere else, then.'
Load More Replies...My husband may work in pest control, but our three cats are our home exterminators.
I have had cats my whole life and until I got my SaM, I had never seen a cat lie like this. Now, I see that I don't have the only "weirdo." (I have a special place in my heart for the strange ones.)
This is why I once named a cat of mine Miles Long. He became Smile, and eventually Smiley, but his OFFICIAL name was, indeed, Miles Long.
I have a dog And he eats bugs! Spiders, flys And big ole stinker bugs! He gets bad breath And Moseys over Licks my feet Ewwww! Annnnd time for a shower! Nah, just a foot wash!
The funniest thing when a cat eats a bug is the look on their face if the bug keeps moving its legs while in their mouth.
noooooooooo poor little spider D: all these innocent bugs are dying lmao
What gave you a fright, Zelda? Do you wand a cuddle? *cuddles screen*
I know this face all to well, my sophie constantly wears the "attack" face
This is so like our Nica - who could be a twin (may indeed be Zelda's cousin from NZ). She thinks herself a battleship in this position.
This is something I love, when my girl is about to attack her ball, so cute !!!
My girl will nearly climb a wall, just to get the fly, or a moth, yuck !!!
Mostly at night, my active girl, wants to play , I have some games I created, for playtime !!!
Every night. Even if I had two beds, cat would manage to lie in both at the same time. lol
And slowly, little by little, push you out to the edge until it had the entire bed to itself...
Load More Replies...I love having my two kitties sleeping with me on the bed! Thy cuddle so sweetly.
Well, as I live alone, my two sleep with me, and my dogs did as well !!!
That's between 2 and 4 AM. With suddenly heavy feet. Both on you and *pounding* the floor.
Load More Replies...I had a black cat with a white spot on his chest and white feet. The tips of his fangs showed all the time. thought it was pretty cool.
Load More Replies...I think most cats love boxes, mine sure do, I usually have one or two for them !!!
all the other cats look like round pillows when they curl up. that cat is special
Omg, my friends cat... She sits like that in a chair, almost looking like a weird human.
My cats have a rope bridge across the hall, I get swatted every time i walk under
When i come home from work, i cannot enter until a headbonk is bonked to my sophie.. no toll paid, no entrance to the house
A toll is a toll And a roll is a roll And if I don’t get no tolls Then I don’t get no rolls.
She looks like she is being interrogated and is finding an excuse for her behaviour.
Either your cat loves the warmth of the freshly tumble dried clothes, or they're making sure the laundry smells like them. Because in a cat's house- everything belongs to them. And therefore, it must smell like them.
Load More Replies...Yeah, kids or pets, there is no such thing as privacy in the bathroom. Even if you try to shut the door, they fuss so much on the other side that you have to give in and open it just to shut them up.
I haven't used the bathroom alone in 20 years. Its like my kids have a radar. And, always the same question mom what yeah doing. Duh, really
Load More Replies...Every time I go to the bathroom, I just hear these soft scratches at the door, and I know it is Kitty, but when I open the door, he just zooms away, and then my dog comes in for some lovins
No kids, one dog.. the moms' in the bathroom and I have to guard her dog.. while he backs his butt up to my leg .. dog!
The gray tabby sits guard in front of me every time I use the toilet. Her mother waits to jump on my shoulders when I'm settled. What's 'privacy'?
That's fine. It is when the cat gets beneath the carpet that things turn kind of rough.
The dog, helps make the bed, he digs the hole in the mattress and lies in it!
Thank you so much!!! This put me in a bright mood on a rainy dreary morning!! There is amazing talent here!!!
Notice she's at the top of the stairs, so maybe someone will trip over her and fall down the steps. It's a cat...
My cat Jack. Except for a drippy faucet instead of the toilet. We keep the toilet lid down when not in use or if it’s being cleaned.
Clicked that little arrow three times before I figured out it is not a click (PS: First, because the panda said to write it)
Very nice little bits of prose with each photo. Its what makes this work.
Was the last picture just as satisfying as the first, cause I certainly think so!!
Load More Replies...Gorgeous cat. But I doubt she finds many bugs in that all-white flat. Which must be constantly cleaned, so that her hair isn't everywhere. Well done.
I had a friend that kept her house spotless, but the bugs still get in through the doors and the cracks in the window sill. She said she always knew when a bug made it in because the cat would freeze motionless keeping a trained eye on it waiting to pounce. She said she once even held the cat up to the ceiling so it could catch a bug that was out of it's reach...lol.
Load More Replies...These tickle me!! They don't tickle my attention-seeking geriatric kitty-baby though!
Dogs: they feed me, take care of me, and love me. They must be gods! Cats: they feed me, take care of me, and love me. I must be a god!
Wait, those were 102 photos? :O I had a blast, big kudos for the little poems :D
