When Lucas Turnbloom and his wife rescued a sweet but rambunctious little cat back in 2017, their lives changed forever. Now, Lucas’ adorable black and white ‘How To Cat’ comics, which are loosely based on the adventures of Sweetie the cat, have become a global hit and we’ve fallen in love with the cute but crazy feline.
The artist revealed that his comics started out as an inside joke between him and his wife. However, she insisted that he put the illustrations up on the net for everyone to enjoy. Things took off from there!

Lucas and his wife found Sweetie at a shelter after she had been in and out of several homes. According to the artist, it took the cat around a month to open up and relax around her new owners.
According to Lucas, Sweetie is, well, a very sweet cat. However, she can also get a bit crazy with her shenanigans. Fortunately, it’s a positive thing. It brings a lot of joy to the artist and his family. What’s more, the catto is a constant inspiration for Lucas’ comics.
“I’m so happy people have found joy in this silly little comic. I hope to continue it for years to come,” Lucas said earlier about his desire to keep on drawing and making all of us cat and humor-lovers happy for as long as possible.
Before “How To Cat” took off, Lucas was mostly known for his Scholastic graphic novel series ‘Dream Jumper.’ You can check out the first volume right here.
Lucas considers himself to be an artist, cartoonist, illustrator, author, and guitarist. He, his wife, two sons, and Sweetie all live in San Diego, in Southern California.

Oddly, my cats have gotten into the habit of either burying nothing on the opposite side of the cat box, or swiping up the sides of the box where there’s no litter, while leaving their “deposits” totally uncovered. Not to mention the amount of litter outside the box.

One of my cats does this EXACTLY when I start falling asleep. I always need to get up and clean, otherwise she goes on and on...

My cat is not the brightest in the world..... she tries to cover it up with our dryer. The sound is worse than nails on a chalkboard.

It still stinks OK and you might be ok living in a house that stinks of poo but I take a different view so unless you get here right now with the pooper scooper this is going on for a while.

Our cat Taques does this and usually gets away with it. The building where I live only has six apartments, so we all know each other. Each apartment has a storage room on the top floor of the building, where there's also a large terrace. Guess where my cat scurries off to if we're too late putting our foot in his way?

It is only rarely that I read such a long post, but this I did and it was totally worth it. I AM DYING OF LAUGHTER. These are so perfect, spot-on, the punchline is so awesomely delivered and it is beautifully drawn. I used to have cats, I am currently leasing my neighbour's cat and a few strays and these are all just breathtakingly wonderful. Wishing you and your cat many more beautiful and funny days!!!!

We have a 7 or 8 month old quarantine kitty at home. She fell in the bath last night while trying to be an acrobat. Absolute funniest thing I have ever seen. Also, toilet zoomies and 3am zoomies are definitely a thing.

So glad my kitty doesn't have 3am zoomies. We always play before bed time, including some zoomies, then we sleep until my alarm goes of. But maybe she imitates the dog? Who sleeps like a stone :-D
