Woman Thinks She Hacked Amazon By Ordering A Ton Of Free Carpet Samples, Regrets It Immediately
Free stuff! Everybody loves free stuff, don’t they? Imagine the delight of this woman, Imgur user RowdyMcMenace, when she discovered an Amazon shopping feature that will send carpet and fabric swatches free of charge, delivered to her door. “I definitely got carried away ordering that many!” Rowdy told Bored Panda. “I got one small delivery at first, then yesterday a mountain of free carpet samples arrived.”
“These would make a neat cat scratcher, and they’re free so…” she said about her reasoning behind the free carpet collecting. Makes sense right? In her own words, she stated her case quite eloquently. “I never requested these under the pretense of making a purchase, and if a company can not afford to give away carpet samples, then they shouldn’t offer.”
However, I think it’s fair to say she made an enemy out of the Amazon delivery guy by the time her sample splurge was finally satisfied, and there were so many individually wrapped packages that he required a little extra assistance. “My boyfriend was home and awake, so he helped the delivery guy bring everything inside,” she told us. “That’s why there’s an empty hamper in one picture- he was using it to carry a bunch at a time!”
Despite the unexpected arrival of the ‘mountain,’ Rowdy’s boyfriend appears to have taken the whole episode in good spirits. “My boyfriend is so laid back that after the mountain of parcels was inside he woke me up to watch me freak out,” she told Bored Panda. “I was in disbelief, then all I could do was laugh and apologize. I felt awful, but it was already done so might as well make the best of it! He helped me clean everything up, and then we played with the cats.”
Having learned her lesson from the binge, which came in packaging that she did not expect, she has kindly decided to donate the excess samples to local animal shelters. “I can’t bring myself to sell something I got for free,” she explained. “I’d much rather donate and share.”

I may be too harsh but I just really can't applaud this circumventing (hope I've used this word correctly) of the system. Nothing is ever free, I like that you can order a sample for free but doing these type of things will not exactly motivate anyone to provide this service in the future...
and this is why we can't have nice things.
This is why we can't have nice... things... darling Because you break them, I got to take them, AWAYAYAYAY

This is such a non story though. -Woman orders a ton of carpet samples by mistake - How is this even considered interesting.
Well actually from Amazon point of view it could be nothing special, as i think there could be actual retail shops that might need loads of carpet samples, and after ordering to deliver customer orders. Or carpet fitting company.
Why do you show off about this? It is nothing to be proud of that you wasted all these samples that you never needed and never will use. I would expect this kind of behavior from a child, not a grown woman.
Physical or numerical growth is not usually an indicator of intellectual growth.
That is so true. I always say that.
Good point.
Lighten up, read and comprehend. She is not "wasting" anything. She is donating the material to local animal rescues. And having worked for various manufacturing clients, I can assure you that, while this looks like a mountain to her, it isn't even enough to be called a pittance to the supplier. I suppose, though, that you are one of the few perfect people on earth that has never overindulged in anything. The rest of us poor, flawed mortals can only be in awe.
She never intended to purchase carpeting. This is unethical at best.
mostly I think the waste is in the fact that they spent an enormous amount of money on sending all those samples to her.
Apparently you missed the part where she thought they were going to be small, so was surprised by it herself. And, because she felt bad, she donated what she didn't use to a kitty shelter. The rest of it was just her being cheeky. Reading is hard.
I'm glad she will donate them to an animal shelter. That makes her a good person.

Agree. I think the other problem is the language overusage. The author is Hungarian, not a native English speaker. She wanted to use a very high sophisticated English, but she was not successful. The story is partially unclear, blurry, and not got to the point.
