Finnish Photographer Proves Fairy Forests Are Real In Finland (41 Pics)
Many people think of Finland as the land of cold weather, darkness, and many forest trees. However, Ossi Saarinen (previously here and here), a Finnish wildlife photographer, believes that the country is much more than just that, and he shows another surprisingly enchanting side of his motherland through nature photography.
Ossi brings pleasant feelings through his photos of spectacular Finnish nature, especially the untouched forests, that Finnish people are so proud of, covering almost three-quarters of the whole country. And within these peaceful and ancient forests, wild animals roam freely and enjoy their lives at their best.
Finnish animals appear to be very mysterious, fascinating and charming just like they've stepped out from fairytales. Ossi does not skip the chances to capture the beauty of Finnish wildlife in animal photography snaps. He believes that every encounter between the animals and humans becomes an unforgettably amazing experience (Well, let’s not talk about the encounter with a bear).

I am a human Owl since 1957 when my Chinese classmates in Hong Kong nicknamed me ...... wearing big-round short-sighted glasses. Until these days, they still calling Owl in Chinese Cantonese when I went back for our Re-Unions from Bangkok, my ' City of Angels ' I sung one Thai song for them in the Diocesan Boys' School 's Hall - lucky most senior Thai boys left for their Second Lives & no body could understand not to say of mistakes ...... I WAS REWARD ONE US$ FOR MY EFFORT ! Have a wonderful Holiday Season, together with my MERRY CHRISTMAS & HAPPY NEW YEAR 2019 TO ALL & EVERYONE !

A perfect setting of my beloved SUN, my ALMIGHTY SUN I would say ...... Almighty SUN has my Top respect with Buddha of India coming Second - I was a Buddhist monk twice (a city one in Bangkok & a forest on in Utraraditt, northern Thailand) I also have 4 teachers in Meditation plus over 30 years of vegetarian ...... I told my 2 children over 20-yr-ago that their father could die everyday - & yet, my ' Guardian Angels ' always came to my rescue. The SUN always helped me to run-away from the mountain forest-temple & stopped my pain (1/3 of my head) from fatal Cataract Surgery in 2017 - my Left-Eye is recovery from total blindness to now blurish with 7 doctors auditing since August 9, 2017. I AM A LUCKY MAN !

So Beautiful ! I love Snow & Ice since I was born in Guangxi province of China in 1944 & later years in 1965-70 studying in the Mid-West of the US - experienced Snow & Ice during those 5 years ...... We lived in the country. They would walk right up to the house. We had over 30 acres. Dad would not allow hunting. I was hanging clothes once. Turned around and one was two feet away from me watching me unafraid. Beautiful animal.

not sure about the last comment(s) from xowojicu , he is certainly not a squirrel. Neither am I but will need to redivert this correspondence to this beautiful species which has fairly recently become a subject of human caused genocide here in London and because I've tried to manage financial budgets my ex husband started to nickname me ' squirrel'. Well he's luckily long gone but this amazing daughter he helped me to appear in my life is now 8 yrs old and enjoys the collection of over 100 various squirrels on our windowsills. Good subject to give her an intro into human's intervention and consequences caused to endangered animal species worldwide. This beautiful red squirrel would have been caught by Ossi far away where the grey squirrels haven't even dreamt of invading yet.

It looks as if he invited me to follow him. The stag (IS it stag? I am always confusing animals of this type and fact that I am not native English speaker doesn't help) itself is beautiful and greenery around him completes the whole. It looks like a scene from one of Ghibli productions - just in real life. You really captured the moment.
