It’s Flamingo Friday! I never even knew that was a thing until one of my Facebook page fans pointed it out.
This was my first attempt at a flamingo. I’ve made several more since then but this one has a special place in my heart. I was totally dumbstruck by the fact that he was standing on one leg and every time one of my wading birds stands alone, I’m amazed that I’ve managed it yet again.
He stands about 20cms tall and his beak is polymer clay. That stuff is the bane of my creative life but it does make my birds look slightly different. He’s a very basic version of the birds that I do now. I’m always learning, always improving. But even though he’s very simple, he still holds a lot of charm for me.
