Julianne Nicholson was nominated for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series for her performance as Sinatra in Hulu’s Paradise, where she delivered a particularly memorable villain-to-savior transformation.

Nicholson is no stranger to the Emmys. 

She won the Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Limited or Anthology Series or Movie award in 2021 for her devastating performance in Mare of Easttown, opposite Kate Winslet. 

Although Julianne ultimately lost the award to Allison Janney for The Diplomat, she still turned heads with her fashion choice for the night.

Walking alongside her husband, British actor Jonathan Cake, the couple arrived in perfectly coordinated black-and-white ensembles.

Instead of a flowing gown, Nicholson chose a structured black dress layered over a crisp white button-down shirt and a matching black tie.

The sharp, menswear-inspired combination was a noticeable departure from traditional awards-show glamour.
