Ever since I began dating my partner Kellie 7 years ago I've been making her illustrations all about our lives together. 3 years ago Kellie gave birth to our Daughter, Poppy, and now more than ever these comics are a way for me to capture the precious moments I spend with them both.
The drawings are a mixture of tender, romantic moments combined with silly, crude, and very British humor.
Two years ago we posted on Bored Panda and got an incredible response. Now we have an amazing following of over 100k lovely people on Instagram who enjoy following our lives and watching Poppy grow up in our illustrations.
Here are some of our favorites from the last year. We hope you enjoy!

Poppy was skipping along clutching a little Easter snow globe thing that we’d bought her that she was so happy with. It wasn’t long before in her excitement she accidentally dropped it, and it instantly smashed on the pavement. She was devastated and stood in the street sobbing. As I was comforting her the sweetest girl came up to us and said she’d witnessed the scene and that it melted her heart seeing how sad Poppy looked. She bought her a cupcake to cheer her up! It’s the kind of thing that restores your faith in humanity. Thank you, kind stranger.
Every so often Kellie will announce it’s ‘Girls’ Night’ and she treats me to a facepack and manicure. I possibly love it way more than I should.
my only regret: applying peel-off face-mask on my very bearded boyfriend.
Yeah, gotta watch that beard 😬
Load More Replies...I do the same every time my daughter visits. It’s a tradition we’ve had for 14 years
Something touching but poignant Kellie said to me last night. Neither of us had good relationships with our fathers, in fact, they were almost entirely absent from our lives. I grew up determined to try to be the Dad I never had.
That is so sweet ! Encouraging that such a start in life does not determine your own parenting style.
it does though. in trying to be a better reference than the one you had to deal with
Load More Replies...This made me stop for several minutes to think how happy I am that I have a good dad.
i hope to learn from my dad of what to do better. he was a great dad yet the drugs got to him. time hasnt changed him yet but hopefully itll tech him what he did.
I’ve had a nasty bout of flu over the last week and felt dreadful. Poppy missed me when I was in bed for a few days, so she started climbing onto the bed, tucking into me, and watching Netflix with me while I laid there exhausted. It was so cute the way she just wanted to be close to me.
Therre is a sense in little children as well as in dogs cand cats that seem to get lost in adults...
It's very cute, but not sure it was a good idea to have around with the flu. It's highly contagious and children's immune system may not be able to handle it. We had the flu for about 7 days last week and it's was horrible.
This was the last day of my illness, I think I was past the contagious stage, and I was careful not to touch her.
Load More Replies...Poppy loves bus journeys. She happily sings away as it drives along.
She has my eyes, and Kellies smile
Load More Replies...Omg!!! SO CUTE!!!! She is VERY beautiful and lucky to have you, Pete and Kellie!
Poppy is still obsessed with Kellie’s boobs. Cuddles always turn into Booby Cuddles. I’m quite partial to getting involved too.
to say the truth, they aren't so different...
Load More Replies...In the mornings when I leave for work Poppy will excitedly announce ‘I want to say goodbye on the doorstep!’ She follows me to the door, where she gives me the most tender little hug you can imagine.
My daughter used to launch herself at her dad when he came home from work.
When Kellie wants my attention she might do something silly, like last night in bed when she pretended to powerfully ejaculate in me...
The time I got out of the shower and power-catwalked into the room toward Kellie, maintaining eye contact.
So hot it’s almost uncomfortable 🥵
Load More Replies...I’ve been working on it awhile haha
Load More Replies...Whenever I’m playing on the floor with Poppy and have to leave to go to work or do chores, Poppy holds my hand, looks at me with big sad eyes, and tells me she wants to ‘keep me’. It melts my heart.
Yesterday was Poppy’s first day at nursery! Such a mix of emotions when we dropped her off. I wanted to stay and play with all the toys with her.
Having a young child is like having a window into your own childhood. You get another chance to do things you’d long since forgotten about - like avoiding the cracks in the pavement.
i never did this. got thousands of other weird and funny quirks though
My sister is 9 years old and I love playing cuddly toys with her! Gives me an excuse to get my old cuddly toys out and get a bit nostalgic 😄 (I'm 31 btw)
Long since forgotten avoiding cracks? Seriously? If you ever did, you still do. Or I'm weird....
When you’ve had a bad day/week at work or you’re stressed or worried, the magical healing properties of the humble spoon heals all.
Also works with your cushions propped up the right way..and your blanket..sort of.. :/
Something Poppy said this week. She must’ve heard me say it to Kellie, she’s like a tiny mirror these days, imitating things we both say and do.
I am also incapable of having a cup of coffee without at least one spillage!
This is supposed to be the steam rising out of the cup, I'm just c**p at drawing.
Load More Replies...I’m a hopeless romantic.
My daughter is 17 years old, she was 8lb 13oz & tore me from my V to my A! She has never made me a cup of coffee. Her reason? She says she doesn't want me to miss her too much when she moves out!
I didn’t know what it meant soooooooooo I looked it up during school on my school computer craaaaaaaaaaaaaaap
Poppy does this hilarious little monkey dance which perfectly compliments my gangly camp toe-tapping and Kellie’s shoulder-popping sideways crab shuffle.
My kids are now 19 & 17 years old & mortified by my behaviour on a regular basis. They really wish I would grow up! I refuse to! Being a grown up is no fun whatsoever! That is why I bought myself some magic sand today!
Load More Replies...Occasionally (more often than normal, perhaps) I’ll burst into the room singing ‘Milkshake’ by Kelis, accompanied by ludicrous dancing. Kellie appears to be desensitized to such things now.
Deliberately? You do know that indecent exposure is a crime?
Load More Replies...Poppy’s behavior has been challenging for the last couple of weeks. Partly because she’s a bit under the weather, but also because she’s a willful, spirited little madam.
I just say the opposite of things and wish for them super badly (I hope I get something really bad today) so that the universe can hear me and do the opposite (I end up getting something good for the day!) It works idk why XD
If the floor was covered in Lego, but there were a couple of cars (I was never girly), my mum would tell me to pick the cars up. She knew I would pick up everything but the one thing I was told to do! She says it worked every time! Sneaky mum!
Load More Replies...Hope for the best - expect the worst, and you'll never be disappointed :-)
Kellie is always so eager for Cat to sit on her lap. Cat always chooses Daddy.
Isn't this the same for cats, dogs, kids? The busy one is the interesting one.
Busy parents are more likely to say yes, so they can get on with what they are busy doing. Kids and cats know this!
Load More Replies...My cats do this all the time. In fact I currently have a cat in my arms sleeping like a frickin baby,
I've been staying at the in-laws and her cat wont stop harassing me then at night sleep by my feet, or in the mornings my mother in law will sit next to me and make a trail of treats for her cat but all for nothing because Killa goes right to my feet, (To attack and the cuddle with).
Kellie is rubbish at winking...
One morning when Kellie was getting ready this happened. Next thing you know Poppy is making rocket noises and excitedly pretending to fly around the bedroom...
It probably works better as an airplane or rocket anyways... I paid a kinky amount of money for one of those rabbits when it was the new thing, back when it was on SexAndTheCity and everyone went crazy for one. I've never been so disappointed by a purchase in my life... That expensive piece of s**t rabbit let me down every time, just like a one-night-stand who passes out drunk after 20 seconds. As a sextoy it's overrated garbage! But it probably makes a good airplane!
This might possibly be my favorite paragraph on BP, ever. Thanks for sharing... and saving me disappointment.
Load More Replies...I'm ashamed to admit that I found my mothers "rocket" as a child several times and played with it. My younger sister also got a hold of a different one years later. I was horrified when I realized :(
Last week I horrified my 17 year old daughter. I didn't realise she had friends over. She asked me what I'd been up to when I came in. I jokingly shouted through that I had been out window shopping for a**l beads! I then saw her friends.....
It’s not happening.
Or like, it's normal in a long term relationship? 1am and I have to get up at 5? Yeah sorry boo. No fly. Night night time.
I’ve had a sore shoulder this week, so last night I asked Kellie if she’d give it a massage. This is what happened next, word for word...
Too relatable. When Hubby starts making injured coyote noises during a backrub, I tell him, "Remember, the safe word is Cobra."
Kellie is visiting her Mum this week so we’ve been keeping in touch on FaceTime. We always seem to end up spending most of the call pulling variations of The Old Dog Face at each other.
I was drawing at the table when Poppy climbed up on a chair, peered over and said ‘what’s going on, Dad?’ - it was the first time she’d ever said it and it was so funny and adorable that I just had to stop and give her a huge cuddle.
Those random little phrases that could be from a grown-up are the cutest.
Summer or winter, Kellie gets ludicrously hot when she’s sleeping. It’s like sharing a bed with a human-sized hot water bottle.
My ex used to moan at me for this. He said it was like trying to spoon the sun.
I'm the human furnace personally. I put off a lot of heat so I like my place really cold all year round.
Hahaha my kids father always tells me I turn into an oven when I sleep and it was worst when i was pregnant. Lmaoooo
At the supermarket, while Kellie is shopping like an adult, Pops and me will get our own trolley and race around the supermarket pretending we’re flying a rocket that needs regular top-ups with petrol (complete with exaggerated ‘glug, glug, glug’ sounds as I pretend-pour it into the side of the trolley). Pops can’t get enough of it.
That's so sweet I could cry :) I love this! Thanks a lot for drawing...
My grandma & her "Gentleman Friend" got banned from our local supermarket at the ages of 80 & 84 for racing their mobility scooters down the aisles!
We have a saying in our house, "It doesn't take much to entertain small children, just a lot of it". It is amazing how you can entertain them with the simplest of things if you have the time.
We were walking home, and as the sun was setting Poppy noticed with such fascination how our shadows appeared longer in the low light.
Every time Kellie or I have the slightest little pain we instantly freak out and assume it’s something serious.
That's because you have your beloved little daughter and you're subconsiously terrified something will happen to you and you'll have to leave her. Been there!
Kellie does this annoying thing at bedtime where she’ll suddenly flail her legs in the air to wrap the covers around her - exposing my feet to the cold air. She looks like a fallen horse while she’s doing it.
I must be weird, because I have my feet outside the covers most of the time.
You need a fleece blanket! I call it 'building my nest' when I put it at the end of my normal blanket. Halfway on top, halfway around the edge. And a second one for your horse, of course :D Bed-5c6fd3...2410c3.jpg
all right, please go check "casa vianello" end titles: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XQVWf2yVr5Q this is an italian tv sit-com from the '90s involving a popular couple of comedians, sandra mondaini and raimondo vianello. they were actually married in rl. every episode of the sit-com ended with them laying in bed, he read a sports gazette and she muttered something like "booooriiiing" (che barba che noia) before turning her bedstand light off and start doing exactly what's depicted in your panel :D
I was banned from sleeping in my parents bed after my Dad moaned it was like trying to sleep next to "an octopus with fleas"!
Thank you! I remember the previous ones too. I just love how funny and weird in a very good way your family is. Humor and love make life worth living for. :)
These are great ... our kids are approaching their 30s now, but some of this remains true to this day, and others are a pretty good picture of where we were when the kids were younger ... I have shared on Facebook, because ... well, I have captioned the post "Art imitates my life (past and present)"
Mr. Pete, I can tell you have a great family. From dance parties, to running ariund the grocery stores, those are beautiful. I still remeber the ones my family and I have. Cherish everything, but family the most. Keep drawing, my dude!
This is so utterly beautiful. Beauty in simplicity. And they have a cat!
Where have these been all my life!?!?! 💓 Thank you so, so much for sharing!!!!! *I have to find more!!*
Over 500 of them and counting on our Insta: https://www.instagram.com/kellie_and_pete :)
