Art is traditionally thought of as something drawn or painted on a canvas, on paper, or even on walls. For a lot of people, art is more abstract than that. The community of makeup lovers turning to use their faces as a canvas is growing by the day, and I myself joined that community three years ago. Hi, I’m Sarina. And I paint stuff on my face.
It might seem wasteful to spend hours doing makeup on your face, painting something you’re proud of only to wash it off minutes later. To me, however, it’s therapeutic, and it’s an art form that has inspired me more than anything.
For me, it’s something that has helped me express myself as an individual. And last year, I used makeup to come out as bisexual - which was something I never thought I could ever do. The community and art drove me to be true to myself, and I am forever grateful for having found this path in life.
I hope you enjoy my art as much as I enjoy making it!
