I refuse to go to a restaurant within ~ 15 mins of their closing time. It’s 8:43 and they close at 9:00? We’re picking another restaurant lmao 😂 I’ve had friends argue with me about this but I refuse to be THAT customer.

My family has done several birthday meals out at restaurants and brought our own cakes, because we call and ask in advance if it's allowed. And we like to leave some cake for the staff if they want it! It's quite simple, their establishment, their rules. We would never just take a cake in without asking first.
