In 1973, the U.S. Supreme Court issued a landmark decision in which the Court ruled that the Constitution of the United States protects a pregnant woman's liberty to choose to have an abortion without excessive government restriction. But now the Supreme Court wants to turn the U.S. into a dystopian hellscape by overturning abortion rights.
According to the initial draft majority opinion written by Justice Samuel Alito that circulated inside the court, “Roe was egregiously wrong from the start.” The document also stated that “We hold that Roe and Casey must be overruled. It is time to heed the Constitution and return the issue of abortion to the people’s elected representatives.”
The decision, which is expected to go formal in June, will open up the nation’s 31 Republican-controlled states to pass severe or total abortion restrictions. And this did not sit well with people who went into tears watching Elizabeth Warren fuming with anger on Tuesday when she gave her speech.
So they took to the internet to show rage and despair over the American court system that yet again failed its people, especially those at their most vulnerable.

Because these aren't "pro-lifers", they are pro-religion and pro-control. They don't give two shits what happens to the baby after it's born, and certainly not the mother during pregnancy, nor the nearly two decades afterward. I am livid.
On May 2nd, POLITICO obtained a leaked initial draft majority opinion written by Justice Samuel Alito that sent shockwaves around the country. The document revealed that the Supreme Court has voted to strike down the landmark Roe v. Wade decision, which granted a pregnant woman's liberty to choose to have an abortion without excessive government restriction since 1973.
POLITICO notes that no draft decision in the modern history of the court has been disclosed publicly while a case was still pending. Moreover, the document, labeled as a first draft of the majority opinion, includes a notation that it was circulated among the justices on Feb. 10.
The document labeled as “Opinion of the Court” reads as follows: “We hold that Roe and Casey must be overruled. It is time to heed the Constitution and return the issue of abortion to the people’s elected representatives.”
“Roe was egregiously wrong from the start. Its reasoning was exceptionally weak, and the decision has had damaging consequences. And far from bringing about a national settlement of the abortion issue, Roe and Casey have enflamed debate and deepened division.”
And it's not about mothers either. They could not give less of a f**k about the actual human being who owns the womb.
While Americans digested the potential horrifying consequences of the Supreme Court’s draft opinion overturning Roe v. Wade with rage and despair, many people met the news through an emotional and deeply personal lens. Women who had had abortions or given children up for adoption took it to social media to share what challenges they would have faced if the court struck down the Roe v. Wade decision to grant abortion rights.
This is the first domino in the disgusting conservative agenda. They'd love nothing more than to bring back the scenario of keeping women in the homes -pregnant, in the kitchen, no voice - religious rule over all, and by god, every gay back into the dark closet! They have become the most extreme political group in this country. The overturning of Roe V. Wade will fuel their fear and hate filled agenda.

Meanwhile, Chief Justice John Roberts says the Supreme Court will investigate the release of a draft opinion that would strike down Roe v. Wade. He called the incident "a singular and egregious breach" of trust. In a statement on Tuesday, Roberts commented: "This was a singular and egregious breach of that trust that is an affront to the Court and the community of public servants who work here. I have directed the Marshal of the Court to launch an investigation into the source of the leak."

"To the extent this betrayal of the confidences of the Court was intended to undermine the integrity of our operations, it will not succeed," Roberts said. "The work of the Court will not be affected in any way. We at the Court are blessed to have a workforce–permanent employees and law clerks alike–intensely loyal to the institution and dedicated to the rule of law. Court employees have an exemplary and important tradition of respecting the confidentiality of the judicial process and upholding the trust of the Court."
Moreover, the court's public affairs office confirmed the document is indeed "authentic." However, the office added that "it does not represent a decision by the Court or the final position of any member on the issues in the case."
One of the first Laws that Nelson Mandela rescinded when he was President of South Africa was the ban on abortion. This from a man who was in prison for 27 years. I do not live in an easy country - murder, assault, rape, rioting, etc - that law is still in power. Young girls as young age as, 12/13, can be given an abortion without parental permission, as they fear reprisal from the toxic masculinity and feminine, too sometimes. Yes, Biden needs to step up and do the job he was elected for, not still be telling people they need to vote again to make their feelings known. They already did that and that's why Democrats have the White House, the Senate, and the House right now. He needs to do his damned job, and step up to do the right thing. He needs to kill the filibuster, the electoral college needs to be dissolved, ban corporate political donations, remove lifetime judicial appointments, and every living adult U.S citizen needs to have the right to vote, with no exceptions.
I had a pregnancy terminated because the heart valves were missing on the fetus. It wasn't going to live. I had the nursery all done up and was looking forward to finding out the sex so I could start buying clothes. I was devastated. If I would've carried the baby to term there's a possibility that it could've caused sepsis and I would die. If it didn't I would be giving birth to a dead baby. Now Brett the beer man and Gorsuch seem to think their opinions are more important than women like me and our existence. Fu*k 'em.
I was against many things until one day I realized "hey...that's none of my business. It doesn't affect me at all". Whether or not Sandy down the street gets an abortion has zero impact on my life, but it has a massive impact on Sandy's life, so Sandy should be the only person that gets to decide what to do.

Being Pro life unless it's the life of the mother of course - the US having the highest rate of maternal mortality. And that's before we even consider things like post partum depression suicide and other complications that arise from going through a pregnancy :-(

I am pro-life, and I speak from myself that I care what happens to that child. I am sick and tired of the way other pro-lifers act, because it's BS. I would gladly adopt and pay all fees to let on child live, making sure they have the best life possible. Unfortunately, I can't legally do this, but I plan to once I can. I'm sorry this is what you think, although overall it is true.
Come back to us when you have paid for all the prenatal care and pregnancy leave for at least one unwilling pregnant woman AND adopted her baby.
And sent it through school... fed it well... etc. for 18 years.
And also provided ongoing medical care for all the expenses associated with having gone through pregnancy and experienced permanent consequences.
@Lennah - Ok so you're willing to adopt and financially support ONE child so it can live. That's super great. But what about the hundreds of thousands of other women who need access to abortion services? Who is going to take care of all those other unwanted children? It actually doesn't matter because you don't get to decide what another woman does with her body no matter how much you like babies.
The USA seemingly used to be a beacon of freedom and quality of life. What happened? Unless you are rich, it seems the USA is turning into a third world country and theocracy?

You need to compare it to the same times. In the 1800s USA was a very advanced country compared to many, like Spain for example. Yes, they had many issues but you cannot compare them to 21th century countries. Nowadays? While we spaniards have a ton of issues we still are much better than modern citizens of USA

I see it this way. No one has the right to take your kidney if your child is dying. You are not legally obligated to give your dying child any part of your body so they can live. Men are not told they must give their wife their body parts or blood if she needs a transplant just bc he had sex w her. No one is allowed to harvest corpses for organs either wo consent. But women are being told they must give their bodies over to a fetus when they don't want to. No one is legally obligated to let another person or thing live off of their body parts but women are being told they must sacrifice their lives for something they don't want stealing their organs and blood and mind all bc they had the gall to have sex. Women will now no longer have legal privacy and neither will men. Roe v wade protected our right to privacy from the govt meddling in our private choices. Corpses will now have bodily autonomy but not women

You're right, there are some aspects of the USA that make it a third world country. We have an insane amount of poverty, going back into child workers, people dying from the inflation & medical $$$. It seems that the US health care kills more people than saves them due to how expensive it is.
