This tiniest horse is moonwalking into your heart right now! Meet Martha, she’s a rambunctious baby and is and HILARIOUS! There is literally nothing cuter in the world than her!

Please take a look at her amazing little videos and images here:

She also has a very important story to tell the world. Dwarf horses, unlike mini horses which a breed to be small over a long lineage, suffer from a rare genetic disorder. Sometimes this happens naturally when two recessive genes show up in a foal, but when it’s selectively breed for, it’s the result of inhumane breeding practices that can only result in an animal with a short life filled with either a great amount of pain or a GREAT amount of expense, if not both. Thankfully Martha was rescued at only 10 weeks old from a man advertising her as a Christmas present on Craigslist. “No mention of her being a Dwarf, her twisted front legs or the fact that she will have lifelong health issues.”

Please share with the world! It’s cute and important and as a Bored Panda addict, I know it’s an article people will want to read.

I think it’s time we set the record straight a bit about Martha and dwarfism•The fact that she has brought so many smiles to so many people all over the world, is wonderful💘 However, the fact that there are many who comment on her posts saying “I need one!” or, “Where can I get one?” is dismaying•So, let’s step back for a minute and review what dwarfism is and why it is not something that anyone should be enchanted by•Dwarfism is a genetic malfunction that produces a horse with serious health issues. Think of it this way. A horse is a very large animal and it’s body is built correctly to fit everything that goes inside of it. A Miniature Horse is much, much smaller than a horse, yet has the same “insides” as a full size horse, which causes its own set of problems. A Dwarf, is yet an even smaller size miniature horse that has everything a full size horse has and is being compressed into a tiny body. And, there you have it, you simply can not expect a teeny tiny horse to be healthy like it’s full scale relative when it simply doesn’t have enough room for everything. •Dwarves are born right off the bat with health issues. These issues may be•

Irregularly shapes heads•

Bulging eyes•Barrel shaped stomachs•Very short legs, twisted legs, and otherwise irregularly shaped legs•Misshapen feet•Internal abnormalities•Dwarves require an inordinate amount of medical care and treatment. Farrier expenses add up when required feet trims occur every two weeks•And, on top of all of this, they have a low survival rate•So, there you have it. What some may think of as a “cute horse” is really a bucket of issues trying to survive in the world as a tiny, little horse•I caution everyone to not be lured by Martha’s cuteness and her antics, into thinking that having a Dwarf is fun•Martha is an anomaly with her personality. She is also a baby, and, babies often act silly. But, what do all babies do? They grow up. And, with that, often means that the silliness fades away as they become mature horses•Would you still want one when it matures and is no longer playful, but, the chronic arthritis sets in?Please understand that there is a lot more to these horses than meets the eye❤️

.

We felt compelled to get her so that she could at least have a fighting chance at life. .

.

My daughter and I drove the six hours to the middle of Iowa to pick her up, turned around and came right back. .

.

With the help of our vets and @mylittlepeepers foundation, we will, God willing, be able to get some help with correcting her legs.

.

.

She is a mere three months old and we are feeding her foal milk every three hours.

.

People don’t get it. The man who owned her was an elderly gentleman, very kind. He has no idea what we have gone through with her in the first few days of having her with us. He has no idea what it means to have a dwarf (although I implored him not to breed those two mini’s again). This is what he does. He, like so many, lives in a rural area. His horses are kept in a chain link fenced area and he breeds and sells, thinking nothing of it, except for the $500 he gets per foal.

.

That’s right. Not only did we drive twelve hours for her, we paid $500 for a horse that will need a lifetime of care. We have already spent $2,000 with the vet, had our truck detailed because she has lice, she pooped in our Escalade when we picked her up from the vet, and, today will be the farrier, who will hopefully make a corrective acrylic shoe for her.

No, “breeders” don’t think about these things. It’s a business to them and anger isn’t the right word to use about my attitude towards them. It’s a complete lack of education. At any rate, welcome to the Ranch, Martha❤️
