I am in Dali, Yunnan Province, China, is a very famous and beautiful old town with abundant culture heritage and natural resources. However we can always find littered paper packing box everyday in small alleys. So I was thinking that maybe those wasted paper packing box will be more useful than lying quietly in the dustbin. Then I start one project: early in the morning, with a pen, a painting board, no paper, cycling in the alleys of Dali Old town to collect wasted packing box. When I find one paper packing box, I will dismantle the wrappers, flatten it, and draw the architecture in front of me directly on it. After that, it will be nailed on the wall exactly where I picked it in order to be seen by more people. I want the art to be known not as something far away from our life, but something inside our life, even in the wasted paper clusters. What’s more, wasted paper turns out to be an art painting as well.
