An American artist Jane from the Pigeon Gazette did these funny drawings to illustrate how dogs feel and what they think when they are home alone. While it may be that you just went to the store and back, the comic shows that in your pooches perception of time it has been f-o-r-e-v-e-r… Yup, he event counted. So don’t blame your adorable dog for panicking a bit, creating a huge mess, and eating all the food in the cupboard…
Dog experts say you can try putting your family pet in a small room or area of the house that’s quiet as having a whole house for himself can be too overwhelming. Another great idea is to leave a piece of clothing you recently wore, as your scent will make your cute doggo feel calmer. And last, but not least, give them a toy to play with while you’re away.
Now, scroll down below and check the adorable dog logic workings below!

Actually, I'm pretty sure dogs see time the same way as us.
Load More Replies...I liked it until the last frame...reminds me of my dog when I walk to the mailbox...but the downer dude screwed it...
Sorry to say, but Bored Panda had an actual footage by a dog before: https://www.boredpanda.com/owner-attaches-gopro-dog/
Not every dog reacts the same a dog that stays calm is a sign of trust, freaking out is actually separation anxiety because they are pack animals

This is why we create our dog. He gets too anxious when he has the whole house to guard. In his crate, he feels safe and knows we will be back for him.
My dog doesn't steal food or chews anything while I'm gone. I could even give him the biggest nicest bone - he just leaves it and only starts chewing on it when I'm back. He's definitely too stressed while I'm gone. I'm glad that doesn't happen often since I'm working from home.

I think the reason dogs chew on shoes is because they don't want you to go....
This is why I have cats. I can't handle the guilt. Dogs-master manipulaters.
As long as you have more than one. I've never had dogs, so I can't compara, but cats who are left home alown 10 or 12 or more hours can become very depressed and listless, too. Especially because dogs are usually paid more attention then, they are taken for a walk etc., cats are often ignored because people think they are okay by themselves, they're not.
Load More Replies...Kinda cute, but mostly not accurate and only perpetuates the bad myth that people who work shouldn't have dogs as they stress when you're away. Some do, sure, but most dogs sleep a majority of the time you are away, unless they have separation anxiety (not a small number, but also not the majority). And most dogs only play with interactive toys (food toys, something thrown, something with a human, etc)... so "leaving a toy" isn't the most helpful if advice is the goal. Fact is, people need to work - usually all adult members due to cost of living in most areas. Dogs naturally rest during the day - even back in times when they were wild. They'd hunt in the morning and evening, and rest during the day. So take your dog out for a good long walk in the morning and when you get home. THAT is the advice I'd offer... And small point, most dogs act like that if you leave the house for any amount of time (you have to leave for a very long time - days - for any behavior difference).
Am I the only one who understood this differently? I don't think this had a happy ending. He died in the end and dreamt that. Notice how the house was falling apart at first and there was no food? They had left him behind to die. So he slowly died and in his last moment imagined that his owners came back to get him. This to me was heartbreaking...
