5-year-old Maggie is truly a miracle dog given the hardships she has already faced in order to survive.

It was in Lebanon where her story of strength and resilience began. Maggie was found tied to a box with one ear cut off and a broken jaw. Whilst still pregnant, Maggie was beaten and then shot 17 times with a shotgun which resulted in the total loss of her vision.

A person in Lebanon discovered the poor dog and wrote a post asking for help. A woman in London saw the plea and got help from The Wild At Heart Foundation. Maggie was rescued. However, she had to undergo surgeries and other treatments before she was placed for adoption and before finding her forever home in Brighton, England.

25-year-old Kasey Carlin is the owner of Maggie, who is now a celebrity on the Internet, with over 248,000 followers on her Instagram. Her success was so great, Kasey left her job at a dog-care center and devoted her time to managing Maggie’s Instagram account full-time.

“She has taught me and others so many lessons, we all know the lessons she stands for, we were taught them as kids. She reminds me everyday of them, though. Treat others how you want to be treated, don’t judge a book by its cover, love conquers all, be humble, live life to the fullest, help others, you create your own happiness, you can do anything if you believe! Everyday she reminds me to try to be better and do better” – Kasey told Bored Panda.

Maggie has recently become a therapy dog and has been visiting hospitals, nursing homes and universities where everyone can feel the peace and joy in her. At home, in addition to her owners, Maggie has also stolen the heart of Mishka, Kasey’s other dog.

While I believe in tolerance, cruelty, particularly cruetly against those who would never be cruel is something that I do not comprehend, for I would consider empathy as the most humane of all human traits. I think we should be far less tolerant with those that decide that hurting living beings is tolerable.

I agree. Still we don't know what kind of person hurt her and under what kind of circumstances that person lives himself. Lebanon is no Disneyland either. It's no excuse to hurt a living creature but there's always two sides to every story.

How much must be wrong in the head of a person to do all this to a dog that, most probably, loved this person unconditionally before and maybe even after they abused it so heavily? I am so impressed how Maggie could survive this, and how she still seems to be able to be happy. This once again proves that dogs are the better humans.

This dog deserves infinite patience, love, and admiration. For an animal to go through what Maggie did and still recover is God's hand at work, for sure. I hope the previous owner gets to experience what he did to her, over and over again, in hell.

Though I do believe that violence brings more violence, as in every case, there are exceptions--> This is one! I would definitely hurt these kind of people exactly in the same way they hurt animals(or kids for that matter), so they would feel what they did! There are just too many people on Earth by now (and more and more idiots), and since we've been surpressing natural selection amongst us, and give a chance to all human beings, many of them prove they don't deserve life as it is, because they are destroying the wildlife and nature for us, normal people, who care about our surrounding! I loose my faith in humanity step by step!

Maggie must have suffered, in pain, and no vision, and so afraid, thank God she was rescued, and now with a wonderful family, and a buddy to cuddle with, it is sickening to know such a person or people did this, what bothers me is the fact that there is no justice, I doubt they will be caught, even more frightening, is the thought that someone to do this to a helpless animal, are capable to do the same to a child, or any human, we can only hope, that person dies, somehow in the near future !!!

What a truly beautiful and amazingly resilient dog. It is incredible how an animal that has been through such pain is able to rise above and spread love and compassion to others. Maggie’s love is infectious and I hope that continues to live out a life filled with joy. Thank you to the person in Lebanon who was watching over this sweet dog and to Kasey for giving her a second chance and lease on life.

Very nice story, but I cannot help thinking about all the Syrian refugee children in Lebanon that so desperately need help. This tells me that it is much, much easier to rescue a dog from the Middle East to the UK than it is to help a human child from there, maybe maimed by an equal amount of bullets. 'Tis a trange world we live in.

The person(s) that did this should get the same treatments. I'd love to kick the sh*t out of him/her. Thank you for rescuing this poor doggy

Just makes you think, for every doggo that gets a happy ending, how many others never get that chance. The cruelty of some people really beggars belief.

I think human species should be eradicated of this planet. We are capable of such amazing things. But we are also capable of awful dark sh*t.

Words can't say enough about animal cruelty. Thank god she survived and is safe. I hope that karma comes down hard on the monster who tried to kill her.

I hope that the person who did this had a living hell for the rest of his life and he probably had/have since it's Lebanon.

The story literally said that she was adopted by a 24 year old woman named Kasey from Brighton, England.

How could anyone hurt her or any animal that's sad I can't understand how god allows so much hurt in the world to animals and to each other

Hmm nice for the dog and everything but it feels like they're exploiting it. Can't someone do something good without profiting or peacocking?

Did her babies make it? It said she was pregnant but I couldn't see anything about her puppies. I just want to hold her forever, she's such a good doggo.

Oh, there’s someone in Lebanon who fully deserves an a*s-whoopin’ and 17 slugs in their head. And probably will get them too, for eternity, once Old Scratch (Satan) gets ahold of them.
