After Being Shot 17 Times, A Pregnant Dog Survives, Finds Forever Home, And Becomes A Registered Therapy Dog
5-year-old Maggie is truly a miracle dog given the hardships she has already faced in order to survive.
It was in Lebanon where her story of strength and resilience began. Maggie was found tied to a box with one ear cut off and a broken jaw. Whilst still pregnant, Maggie was beaten and then shot 17 times with a shotgun which resulted in the total loss of her vision.

A person in Lebanon discovered the poor dog and wrote a post asking for help. A woman in London saw the plea and got help from The Wild At Heart Foundation. Maggie was rescued. However, she had to undergo surgeries and other treatments before she was placed for adoption and before finding her forever home in Brighton, England.

25-year-old Kasey Carlin is the owner of Maggie, who is now a celebrity on the Internet, with over 248,000 followers on her Instagram. Her success was so great, Kasey left her job at a dog-care center and devoted her time to managing Maggie’s Instagram account full-time.

“She has taught me and others so many lessons, we all know the lessons she stands for, we were taught them as kids. She reminds me everyday of them, though. Treat others how you want to be treated, don’t judge a book by its cover, love conquers all, be humble, live life to the fullest, help others, you create your own happiness, you can do anything if you believe! Everyday she reminds me to try to be better and do better” – Kasey told Bored Panda.

“I’m amazed everyday that so many people are invested in her story. For so long, no one cared about her, when I agreed to foster her it was because no one else wanted to! I’m glad she can share such a positive message with the world” – finishes Kasey.

While I believe in tolerance, cruelty, particularly cruetly against those who would never be cruel is something that I do not comprehend, for I would consider empathy as the most humane of all human traits. I think we should be far less tolerant with those that decide that hurting living beings is tolerable.
She looks happy now, thank goodness. There is a special place in hell for those who abuse animals.
As an owner of a rescue from a dog fight house, I admire this woman and the resilience of this amazing pup! Thank you for a little more glimmer of hope and love in the world! He is now where he should and needs to be! I cannot love this more!
It hurts my heart to know that someone could be so cruel. I'm so happy that Maggie is getting the life she deserves.
Indeed, she seems even tougher than Chuck Norris. :)))
Load More Replies...How much must be wrong in the head of a person to do all this to a dog that, most probably, loved this person unconditionally before and maybe even after they abused it so heavily? I am so impressed how Maggie could survive this, and how she still seems to be able to be happy. This once again proves that dogs are the better humans.
This dogs resilience is incredible, what an absolute gorgeous dog. I hope whoever did this is found, too bad the same torture can’t be done to them in return. I’m so glad this dog has found a happy and forever home.
Yeah, either that or prosecute him lawfully and not commit more violence and torture.
Load More Replies...This dog deserves infinite patience, love, and admiration. For an animal to go through what Maggie did and still recover is God's hand at work, for sure. I hope the previous owner gets to experience what he did to her, over and over again, in hell.
