New App Lets You Borrow A Dog To Walk And Play With

Owning a dog can be quite a challenge for some, especially if your schedule is super busy or you have to travel a lot. But if spending time dog walking or just petting one is what you live for, you might get a chance to rent a dog of your dreams at least for a while.

A new app called Bark’N’Borrow allows people to search for puppies for rent or simply walk in their neighborhood. It helps connect dogs, owners, professional sitters and borrowers who just want some company, leading some to call it an Uber app for dogs.

The dog rental app is free to download and use, though professional dog-sitters can charge for their services. Unfortunately, it does not currently seem to incorporate any sort of rent a pup service involving local shelters. Other similar apps have already met success, like Borrow My Doggy and Walkzee.

Good idea, provided the dogs are all safe with checks made on Borrowers!

I'm afraid, I'm the party pooper, sorry. This wouldn't work for me at all. 1. My pooch would never go with just any stranger. She barely leaves with my best friends, who sheadores. 2. I'd never give my dog to someone I don't know and trust. And 3rd, I don't think you can 'just borrow a best friend', ust as you can't just borrow a loving chid. Having a dog is wonderful but the real joy are all the loving and silly moments you share in the course of a normal day. A dogowner pay tons of time, money, work, hoovering time and general inconvenience for that joy and love. Walks are nice but really not what matters.

There is no way in hell I would ever let a stranger look after my dog. People are not trustworthy.

I don't think it's good for the dogs :( must be stressful. Especially young dogs that should have one owner to teach them obedience etc

Sorry, to be a pratypooper but this would never work for me. 1. My dog would never go with strangers - she barely is willing to leave with people she usually loves. 2. No way, I'm giving my pooch away to some random stranger! And last but not least: Walk all you want with anyones dog, but you still won't get what their owner gets: a wonderful, deep and emotional connection. A dog's love and devotion is earned with a lot of work, time, money and inconvenience. You can't 'just borrow a best friend'.

This does not sit well with me. 1. True pet parents won't let just anyone else - especially strangers- borrow their pets. 2. This is more of a business transaction that helps only the app developers and pet owners who wants to show off their cute pets. 3. It's an a-hole way to treat your beloved pets. They may as well be foster pets. Loaning them to others will very likely confuse them and if you loan them for a month, may bond to their care takers. It's cruel of them to not give them a stable home when they could have it. 4. Clout via pet ownership is a real low. Instead of doing this for show or money, etc., why not go an extra mile and use this app to look for foster parents instead?

Unclear if app is still active but others probably are. Here's my situation (and we have CoR0Na now): working at home with a kid with ADHD and too much energy. Next door, the guy is also working from home and their dog is young with too much energy. They don't want to get rid of their dog, and I am not trying to avoid my kid, but it's a huge win-win if just put the dog with my son together, then my wife can easily watch them + infant sister all together. Otherwise my son would be jumping on the 9 months old like he does on the dog, and the dog would be chewing up the neighbor's computer wires. Conceptually, you should be able to find matches like that beyond next-door range.

Yeah, amazing, let's treat animals like objects you can borrow and then lend to the next person. Do we get to throw them in the trash if they are too old too?
