She may even be laughing about it just as much, it can be one in an escalating tit-for-tat running joke, whatever. My money is on 'in good spirit' as the daughter (who happily embraces mum) is joking about it.

Maybe he thought it was a perfect picture of all the "kids" and if he wanted it framed or something, I can understand why he wouldn't like to see his ex all the time, maybe it's painful for him in some way. Or maybe he just did it as a joke, who knows
