Firstly, I didn't downvote you, because I think it's dumb to downvote for difference of opinion. Secondly, I was talking about the fandom being a pretty accepting and kind community; not the fact that Disneyworld employees are treated like garbage in the majority of cases. I'm not personally that into Disney/ Disneyworld, and I think you're over exaggerating a bit because you're irked, which is fair enough. I get why you intensely dislike the Disney corporation, and the way they treat their employees, and I agree with you on that part. My point was just that as a community, Disney fans seem a lot nicer than some fandoms. I'm thinking sports fans attacking each other and stuff, you know? And yes, not ALL sports fans do that, but that's off the top of my head.

I'm sorry it came off a little harsh and you're right I just assumed you downvoted me and I'm so tired of people doing that because they don't agree. So I apologize. You're also right that it's not so much that they are horrible or mean-spirited. I just find the overreaction to any kind of celebrity or fandom stuff to be a little strange and sometimes really toxic. I think back on how they made the Doctor on Doctor who a woman and the poor actress was dealing with hatred spewed at her. Or sometimes the Star Wars fandom literally doxxes people who say anything bad about it. I wish people would stop making being a fan a fetish.

I get that, and it definitely goes too far sometimes; people get VERY protective/ defensive of their fandom at times, I agree. Oh gosh, I didn't know that; I feel so sorry for her! (Jodi Whittaker is her name, I think?) That's horrendous! As if it's her fault they cast the Dr as a woman, yeesh. And whaaaat?! That's crazy! You can't go around doing that because you disagree with someone's opinion. People are capable of some disgusting behaviour. Isn't doxxing illegal? If it's not, it should be!

It's funny because comedian Bill Burr was known for making fun of the 'crazy' star wars fans who gave him a bunch of flack because I think one time he said he didn't think the movies were that great. For years his twitter and podcast were flooded with hate messages. So he got the best revenge by getting hired on the Mandalorian- which is a fantastic show- and he knocked it out of the park. I think that's why I just assumed you were being passive aggressive with your comment because I was like, "oh here we go. I'm about to get hit because I don't agree with some kind of thing'. but I really shouldn't have assumed that. It's wild how obsessive some people get about their fandom, especially if their fandom is sports, lol.

I think the Star Wars movies are an important part of cinema history, but I've never seen the appeal myself, because it's not my kinda jam. I don't even know what to say about people attacking Bill Burr for not liking Star Wars. If they're that upset about it, then they have bigger problems, let's be honest; and it's that kind of behaviour that gives fandoms a bad rep. Oh I love that, that's the best kind of revenge! I can understand why you thought that; and when you can't hear someone and see their facial expressions/ body language, it's so easy to misconstrue things. No sweat, it's in the past now :) Oh God, you're telling me. Every fandom has its problems, some more so than others. So how are you? You celebrating the holidays?

Mostly just enjoying the days off of work. I work a job on the phone so just having silence will be nice. How about you?

I bet it's a nice change of pace, not having to make phone calls all day! I have an anxiety disorder, and I hate making phone calls! Is it sales and whatnot? Are you seeing family/ friends for Christmas? (If you celebrate it, that is; I know a lot of people don't, obviously.) I'm enjoying some quiet as well; I think my hubs and I are visiting my family on the day after Boxing Day. My kiddo is away for xmas this year, visiting her bio dad. It's weird without her, but our 2 cats are making plenty of ruckus to compensate for the absence of kiddo lol. Do you have pets?

Not sales but I do customer service for a bank where I just get yelled at all day, basically. I hate the phone with the heat of a nova and I always have anxiety about it but I don't have a choice. It was nice just not being at work those few days. No kids but 2 cats and I understand what you mean; they give me plenty of noise. I hope you had a nice holiday, too.
