This Artist’s Comics Explore What Fictional And Mythical Characters Would Do In The Real World (68 Pics)
The artist known as Boldjun mixes absurd humor, familiar characters, strange creatures, and the occasional surprisingly heartfelt moment into detailed little comic stories. He started sharing his comics on Reddit relatively recently before bringing his work to Instagram, where his growing collection shows just how wide-ranging his sense of humor can be. One comic might reimagine a fairy-tale character's predicament, while the next turns evolution into a buggy software update or explores what an ordinary school day might look like for insects.
Fantasy, folklore, and pop culture are especially fertile ground for his ideas. Cryptids and magical creatures are treated as though they have perfectly mundane everyday problems, while figures such as God, Mother Nature, and demons become characters with their own personalities. Familiar faces from movies and video games also occasionally enter Boldjun's strange little universe, giving him the chance to play with stories and characters readers already know from an entirely different angle. What makes the comics particularly unpredictable, however, is that Boldjun doesn't always go for the darkest or strangest punchline available. Some strips unexpectedly become sincere or emotional, all within one or two panels.

The artwork adds another layer to the jokes. Rather than keeping his backgrounds and characters deliberately simple, Boldjun packs many panels with expressive faces, environmental details, and visual clues that hide Easter eggs and small nods to the comic's characters. Whether the story involves an unfortunate insect, an aging cryptid, or a familiar fictional hero having an existential crisis, there is usually far more going on than the premise initially suggests.
Disney should never have bought the rights to Stephen King's work...
From Spy Kids 2: You ever wonder if God stays in heaven because He sees what humanity has done on Earth?
I always thought he looked better as the Beast. His human form had a weak chin and looked too pretty boy
you can choose your friends, but you can't choose your family. Usually.
Throwback to my 5th birthday party, a boy managed to locate AND open the access to our sceptic tank. He fell in it. Obviously, my parents had to call his but the wild thing is, the party still went on (reason: we'd invited plenty of people -really the best bd party I've ever had- and the adults didn't want any kid to know what had happened to avoid Xavier getting teased at school). Anyway, I think of this boy way too often.
Funny enough, a small p***s was seen as beauty ideal in ancient greek art
Beetles ARE pretty cute! I love junebugs and figeater beetles even though figeater beetles... eat my figs XD
Q - What did the Sphinx do while sitting in the Egyptian sun for centuries? A - think up stupid puzzles, apparently.
I am fortunate that both of my dogs actually love going to the vet, because they get fussed over by all the staff and get endless pets and treats. My cats, however, are a whole 'nother story XD
I have absolutely the square root of no clue what on earth this is all about. But, hey, I'm not in the US ...
'Dammit, I'm Bigfoot not Large foot. I can't help them :('
Explanation for those not gamer-y: By pushing her glasses up to her oddly-shaped hairstyle, the psychiatrist suddenly looked like a Goomba to Mario, and Goombas are the enemies that Mario stomps on in the games XD
Knuckles, an echidna (The only other mammal that lays eggs aside from platypuses)
