Aren't spiders just adorable? Well okay, in most cases they're bloody terrifying, but that image might change when you take a closer look. As close as to where their feet should be, where you'll find that spiders have paws!
In more scientific terms, a spider's paw is called a tarsus, and it's only one of eight parts that make up a rather complicated leg. Just like cats or dogs, spiders also have claws attached to the paws, but in their case, legs also work as ears and nose picking up subtle changes in the air to hear and recognize smells.
Most of these furry paws belong to tarantulas, of which there are around 900 species. Some of them have leg span for up to 30cm - as large as your average dinner plate. The paws are actually called claw tufts that can have around 600,000 tiny strands of fur sticking out. This density of hairs helps the spider travel on vertical surfaces and even glass. So technically the answer to the question "Do spiders have paws?" would be a no, but let's not diffuse this lovely illusion of spiders being cute.
Science aside, these things simply look adorable! A fact that I hope to remember the next time I'll be freaking out while looking at a spider in my kitchen. Check our selection of cute spider paws and you'll be pleasantly surprised on a sudden change in feelings for these arachnids.

EVERY BEING IS JUST LIVING AND DOING ITS THING LIKE US JUST LET THEM AND LEAVE THEM ALONE.WE ALL WANT TO LIVE.
Same! My cat likes to eat their webs if they get too low, so it's a win-win for everyone.
Load More Replies..."In most cases they're bloody terrifying", really? C'mon! Be careful that you aren't part of the problem.
more people find them bloody terrifying than cute and cuddly. Personally, I find them fascinating so long as they stay....over there...
Load More Replies...This one's so cute ! But if you showed me a pic of the same spider , I would become Usain Bolt in no time 😂😂
Aww that's so cute...have to remember that next time one freaks me out.
Thought it was a cat's paw at first. Had me fooled. 😂Cute, though.
Okay I’ll give it to you. It’s cute. But let’s not forget it’s still a spider. Lol
Apparently spiders have tiny little paws that help them knit their webs; still, please don't touch me.
Makes me wonder if spider owners have to cut their claws up because they grow too long unlike in wild ones....
Yeah soft and fluffy with hidden claws to claw you when you look at it thinking oh look its so cute ...scary prove my point I don't trust spiders. Little evil in cute disguised.
Load More Replies...Never knew a spider picture of a claw could show so much beauty and colors.
Do they all have furs on their body? 🕷It's these things that scares me more than the very fuzzy ones. I think. Brrrrr. Just got shivers up my spine. Eew. 😁🕷
Seriously arachnophobes, how do you expect a girl to knit webs without her freakishly tiny paws?
You put your left paw in you take you left paw out, you put your right paw in and then your right paw out, that's how you do the Hookie Pookie.
OK, I am not scrolling down any further, my heart cannot take this, I am terrified especially when you hold it. It's my crazy mind that's imagining all sorts of terror's
They are small, extremely delicate and fearful animals who have no interest in biting a human. Only two Australian spiders are even very dangerous, while most spiders can't even hurt you as much as a rabbit or a gerbil could.
Load More Replies...ok, so if the spider leg is that size against a finger, how big is the spider???
Sorry, but the human's cuticles are WAY more disgusting than the floofy spider claws! Get a mani, Man!
OK now this is getting silly, I just pricked you on your other finger and now you are dumb enough to give me your this finger. Go Figure?
You should look up jumping spiders with water drop hats. Adorable. I showed them to a friend of mine with horrible arachnophobia, and he agrees that they are adorable. He actually tried to protect a crab spider he found in his house shortly thereafter. They are more precious than people would think.
Load More Replies...So that is how it clings to walls. Does Spiderman has tiny claws too? Just wondering.
yeah i think they show them as the little barbs on his hands in the 2002 Spiderman https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=zlwaUJzGqns
Load More Replies...Nope. Just no. I know what those legs and paws belong to, and I'm running away now.
Ah that's so amazing! Sorry if I'm freaking out too much, I'm studying zoology and animal biology in college soon, and I love learning about the weird creatures like snakes and spiders and toads and frogs. I love them! This shows more about their adaptations than a I had originally considered.
This comment on a different thread would sound very suggestive.
Load More Replies...Nah, I've enjoyed some from up the page, but you won't make me think this one is cute or anything lovely!
How ironic the paws are so well kept, the rest of the leg, needs waxing 🤔
Thats better, a different angel.. I would really enjoy these more with different coloured lighting backgrounds... I did this in my tanks & my darlings lived twice as long; personally i believe they were happy in their own comfort zone & knew it was theirs,& this includes the regular light show of changes:))
I always had a cartoon crush on Spider Man when I grew up, but his feet really turned me off, I just couldn't picture him naked after that.............
Chitinous material... More like our nails and their exoskeleton.
Load More Replies...I want get a tiny tooth brush and comb the tiny hairs.. they are pretty .. even I don't like spiders
At quick glance I saw two orchids. And yes, @Karen Attwood I agree. These photos are marvelous!
They're all so cute and furry at the size they are. Cat size? Not so much ;)
Now I realize my earlier comment of how I thought they were cute was wrong
It's bi winder that it's almost impossible to sneak up on a spider! Our best efforts to be quiet and sneaky- even on our stealthiest approach - are no match for all of the spider's sensory hairs all over it's body BUT ESPECIALLY on its feet and those adorable little "paws"!
The paws I can deal with, the tiny claws and the funky looking knee pads... however the long hairs are grossing me out! It's like God was hungover when he dreamt these bad boys up. "Okay so we're thinking eight legs and eight eyes. Yup fangs. Um let's stick some paws on it... and I'm thinking I'll model the fur using the porcupine design I made yesterday. Yup that's that!!! Oh I have to give it home?? Bloody hell my head hurts!! It can damn well make its own home!! .. what was that St Peter? What's it going to make it out of? Well it can Pull it out of Its A**E for all I care! Get me some ibuprofen!! Oh and the health and safety department have told me to put a red warning sticker on the black widows....
Bravo! Best explanation I've heard of yet! I've studied insects and arachnids...doesn't matter, too many legs! They jump and I jump. Had a friend call me one night screaming there was a spider in her bed. I said no, there shouldn't be a spider. I heard a resounding crash over the phone and a lot of stomping...she had smashed the spider into goo, bedsheets be damned. We didn't talk to each other for a week.
Load More Replies...I wish we knew what species / variety of spider in the pics - more info please
Spiders are just awesome. I prefer house spiders, as they are very interesting and elegant creatures and amazingly quick runners.
I like those little jumpers. Their big eyes and innocent expressions make them actually lovable.
Load More Replies...THey use the hairs to climb on webs and the claws to climb on everything else. Trees. Rocks. Humans .
Too funny.. I actually like these little guys.
Load More Replies...This is the coolest fact I have learned in a while, and jumping spiders just became even cuter in my mind! While the closeups are amazing, I would like to see the name and photo of the whole spider, so I can tell exactly what I'm looking at.
Yeah, it just seems like the same kind of spider over and over.
Load More Replies...oh you mean they have tiny horror claws to pull out guts? NOPE!
My stick and leaf insects have those little hooks on their legs, I find them adorable. And spiders' legs are fluffy as well! My entomologist's heart just melted!
Okay Idk how I feel about this. I'm a huge arachnophobe but the little paws are kinda cute. But then I see the jointy hairy spindly legs and I'm scared again :S
Nope. Just nope. No part of anything that creepy can EVER be adorable. Except to its mommy.
You feel that way because of bad social programming. There is no logical reason to find a spider "creepier" than a cat or a dog. They are beautiful, sweet living things.
