Cross stitch is a form of counted thread embroidery that has been around for ages, and it is widely regarded as one of the easiest forms of hand embroidery, making it an accessible hobby for virtually everyone.
One of the biggest online communities advocating for this craft is the aptly titled subreddit r/CrossStitch. As you may have seen in our earlier article on this place, its 404K members are constantly sharing pictures of their proud works, and they serve as perfect examples of cross-stitching's limitless potential.
However, since the subreddit remains really active, we thought it was about time we made an update on it. Continue scrolling to check out its latest gems.

First Time Using Glow In The Dark Thread, It Was Super Fiddly And The Stitches Came Out Quite Messy But I Love The Glow

Agoraphobic But Missing Art Galleries, I've Started Stitching My Own Mini One

You are my hero. For real, agoraphobia is horrendous but being an art lover is so enjoyable so you should not miss out! Awesome idea and execution.
When I Was A Teenager, My Dad Took A Newly-Started Version Of This Away Because "Cross-Stitching Is For Girls". Cut To 20 Years Later As A Proud Gay Man, I Found This On Amazon And Completed Last Week As My First Project And A Huge Symbolic Personal Achievement. Take That Dad!

Eden Serpent By Paradisestitch! It Took Forever But I'm So Happy With How It Turned Out!
That's awfly perty for a picture of Satan. I mean, you specified it was the Eden serpent,... (And he has no legs, so you know it's after he was curse. Because, you know, his plan would have been less likely to work if he was ugly BEFORE offering the apple. )

3 Years And 197,580 Stitches Later, She's Done!
I really wanted to get this pattern, but just the pattern and not the kit. The company wouldn't sell it as just the pattern unfortunately. I love the design but want to change the colours in it.
You could always buy the kit, use the colors you want, and keep the other thread for a future project.

I've never tried to draw the grid onto the fabric. Does it make a big difference? I have a big project coming up and I might try it!!
I've drawn grids when I'm getting ready to start on a really large graph. It helps me with stitch counts and placement (deciding where I want to start). Also, for any beginners out there, please, ALWAYS, double check your finished design area and make sure you buy fabric that will give you enough fabric, outside the design dimensions, so you can finish off your project! Have fun!! :)

Start with the larger cloth, like 10 stitches to an inch with fewer colors and minimal shading. Work up as you develop your skill. It won't take as long as you think. Following the pattern is the hardest.

Best to take it to a professional dry cleaner. The fabric and the thread may shrink different amounts if you wash it. Beautiful work!
No, no, no, nononono dry cleaning is NOT recommended for cross stitch, as the chemicals used can cause the color to bleed. Best way is to swish it through some cool water with a mild soap (I use shampoo for mine), then rinse it in soap-free water the same way. Do not twist or wring. Roll it up in a clean towel (like a jelly roll) to get the excess water out, then let air-dry flat. If it's wrinkled or creased, place it face-down between two towels to protect the stitching and press gently with a warm iron.

Same as on white aida, you count the squares! It is easier if you at least put a white paper on your lap underneath the black fabrik or even better have a light shine through from below then you see the holes more clearly and don't strain your eyes that much.

Oh no... Its happening again! I'm getting INSPIRED!!!!!
I used to do cross-stitching as a kid, this makes me want to start again!
These are all great and yes, maybe around Christmas I will find the time to keep going with my largest ever project (A3 size, completely, densely stitched when finished) that has been pushed back to the end of the line several times by now. I have already completed more than half of it but somewhere along the way I got a bit frustrated and kind of lost my mojo. I will finish it someday, I know, but it might still take several years! There are always so many other things to be done... Also, a bit off the topic, but if you like the cross stitch patterns but do not want to spend your time with needle and thread why not try diamond painting? It is a bit as if cross stitching and paint by numbers had a love child - you put tiny "diamonds" on a sticky surface to create the picture following printed instructions. It is easy, very calming and pretty quick!
I love these crafty posts! There are some seriously skilled people out there. I’m not one of them so all you stitchers/knitters/woodworkers/etc. seriously impress me!
Beautiful! I'm cross stitching a picture of my friends dog, who died in January, and it's hard to me to find motivation to continue with the project, but this helps!!
