I had leftover flowers and an extra door from my last cake and wanted to use them up. Also, needed to use up some cake rounds from the freezer. The cake layers are vanilla and chocolate. Coffee chocolate ganache filling. It was dark by the time I finished this one, so I missed out on good natural lighting for pictures.

Yeah, I loathe fondant. My parents and I divvy up Xmas cake between us - mum gets the fondant, which is an abomination. Dad gets the fruitcake, which he likes (why would you ruin cake by adding fruit to it??). And I get the marzipan, which is glorious.

For my wife’s 46th birthday I made a cemetery cake with a handmade black picket fence, plastic tombstones, candy rocks and green and brown sprinkles for the ground. She loved it and thought it was funny.
