Woman Infected With Coronavirus Breaks Quarantine For Manicure Because She Needs Her Nails Done “Soooooo Bad”
When you need to get your nails done, you need to get your nails done. And it doesn’t matter if you’re carrying a potentially deadly virus and expose other people to it in the process. They won’t know. At least, not at first.
If all of this sounds like something straight out of a sinister sci-fi drama, I’ve got bad news for you; it’s not fiction.
Taylor, a nail artist at Rogue Menai Salon, said a shameless woman turned up to get a manicure done just two days after testing positive for coronavirus – and only admitted to lying about being COVID-free when she got home.
Devastated after hearing she’d been exposed to the virus, Taylor shared screenshots of the text conversation she had with the client to remind people in the industry to stay safe. You can never be sure if your client hasn’t lost their mind yet.

“It was very distressing to receive those messages,” Taylor told Allure. “It is alarming to think there are people who don’t take other people’s safety seriously.” She says that since posting the screenshots, she’s heard from other people in the beauty-service industry who’ve gone through similar incidents.
In Washington, the state’s guidelines say that everyone who is seeking a personal service provider — that includes nail salons– “must self-screen for signs and symptoms of COVID-19 before arriving at the service provider location.”

Taylor said she has reported the client to the proper authorities. “I’m leaving it to them to help me handle this situation properly.” In the meantime, however, she can’t — and wouldn’t — work.
“I am hoping after my two-week quarantine that I will be able to take clients back on. My first concern is the safety of my clients, family members, and friends — first and foremost.”
People were shocked to hear the news
It's so appalling that she knowingly exposed someone with compromised immune system to the virus, and she has the audacity to tell the nail artist to quarantine herself! This is outrageous. And criminal. She should definitely be punished. And I really hope the nail technician is ok
Reminds me of a case where a man was purposely having unprotected sex in order to pass on his hiv. Iirc he got jail time
Load More Replies...In Italy, violation of quarantine for a Covid-positive person is punished with 1 to 5 years of detention.
This is very good! When I first heard of such severe rules in Italy I thought it would be a bit harsh because the only case I could imagine a Covid-positive person leaving his home would be that of an elderly confused person not aware of what he or she is doing or of isolated people without friends or relatives panicking because they have nothing left to eat. I would never have imagined that there are so many people around that just don't care about other people's life. Since then I have learned a lot about humans I never wanted to know... Here in Germany, some people are even demonstrating on the streets for their "freedom" to put other people's lives at risk by not wearing a mask. In my view, they should all be charged with attempted murder.

Sad? That juggernaut at the top did not become president by accident. 40% of Americans still support him. "Every nation gets the government they deserve" (Joseph de Maistre) Stop blaming administration or government, this is the fault of the American population itself.
Load More Replies...Agree. Unbelievably selfish . I feel so furious . Hope the nail technician does not get the virus . Irrespective of the outcome, this lady should be severely punished .

We have to protect huge companies! They are too big to fail! /s......I can't understand how the government can justify propping up big business, but allowing small businesses to collapse.

No pretending. This is the plague. And people that are acting like it isn't, are at the very least fools.

Yet she still thought it was a good idea to travel and THEN she proceeded to go to a college and soon after tested for Covid to be given a positive result. Now the whole college has been closed and it has come out that this woman has been in contact of about 70 people. Then you have a guy that was supposed to be in Quarantine but when the police where doing a check the guy wasn’t there. They ended up finding him quite a distance away. QLD had 3 girls travel, 2 with positive Covid and had gone to bars, a party etc. They apparently around 2000 people and are now facing fraud charges for lying about travelling to Melbourne and theres more. These people deserve harsher penalties for their selfish behaviour and if people KNOWINGLY go in public with Covid then they should face public endangerment charges.
This Is Merica these days...I'm not surprised at all by this. I hope that nail tech lady is ok.
To be fair I don't think these kinds of people are isolated in just one country. Being this thick and selfish - these people exist in every country on the planet. How individual countries handle it is another matter. When the consequences of passing on Covid can be severe the consequences for the person doing so knowingly should be too.

Yay! Your father is out. That is good news. I remember you mentioning what your family were going through before. I am pleased for you.
Load More Replies...Give her a break.. she was quarantined for TWO WHOLE DAYS!! OMG how did she survive at all!?
*And* her nails were really bad. Surviving 2 days in quarantine with bad nails. She deserves a medal
Load More Replies...I'm not a lawyer but my first thought was "attempted murder", especially if she didn't even wear a mask. She should have been in quarantine (no need for beautiful nail there and sch could have cut her nails herself) instead of knowingly endangering a immune compromised woman and forcing her to go into quarantine too and loose two weeks of work after lying to her. Even if the police are active the nail artist should also get herself a good lawyer and file a civil suit
The woman who just had to have her nails done has opened herself up to litigation that could be both criminal and civil. The business operator now has to quarantine for two weeks, which means she suffers damages of no income for that time period, so she could sue the woman for the lost wages. If she were to fall ill, she could sue the woman for medical damages, as well. From a criminal aspect, this woman should be charged with reckless endangerment at the very least. She is a menace and a danger.
No one needs to get her nails done that badly. This customer is the epitome of selfishness and wanton disregard. I hope that the manicurist and her co-workers are alright.
First of all... you need your nails done TO STAY AT HOME? In Second place, in addition to the danger to health, by doing so she forces her beautician to quarantine, and therefore to cancel all appointments for her selfishness ... I would have made her pay for all missed appointments (as well as a complaint for health injuries)
That woman should be strung up by her nails in front of the town hall. Hope the nail technician doged the bullet.
Do they know yet whether she has been to other places as well? After 2 looong days of quarantine, she would have stopped by the coffee and donut shop as well after getting the nails done. How many livelihoods and lives have been impacted by her selfishness!!
The person who went to that appointment should be arrested at the end of their quarantine period. Their selfish action took work and month away from the nail tech who - god forbid - could die from the virus. All that for her f*****g nails to be done. This virus has brought out the best and absolutely the worst in people no doubt about that.
Shouldn't she be arrested or something? I mean that's premeditation. Selfish cow.
Last night I watched my 92 year old Nanna die from COVID on Skype. She had no family with her because we weren't allowed in. I won't even be allowed to go to her funeral because of the restrictions. I can't say what I really think of people like this because my comment will get deleted.
People like this are pieces of human filth that don't care about anyone or anything but themselves and they deserve to burn in the eternal flames of Hell. Also, I am so sorry that you lost your grandmother that way and that you won't even be able to witness her being laid to rest.
Load More Replies...Some days I despair of humanity! The manicurist is 'immuno compromised' already so is high risk and coronavirus can kill anyone. Add to this the fact that the manicurist now needs to quaranitine and will be unable to work for 14 days. I would like to propose an action. It seems that everyone here is outraged over this twit (and rightfully so). Could we all just line up and get to slap her in the face? It may not accomplish much, but I bet we'd all feel just a bit better.
What an absolute idiot this is why the world is still fruitingled up she needs to get like a jail sentence
She should be CHARGED with attempted murder. Forget just banning this vile POS.
She at least has a lawsuit for lost wages. If she gets the virus then medical bills definitely. If she dies, negligent homicide and wrongful death. I would sue the client for everything I possibly could and nickel and dime my way into her life until she was bankrupt. Serves her right selfish POS. I hope all your manicured nails break off
Wow. Im so glad to see everyone here outraged! On top buzz..almost half still tried claiming this was fake!
I've had to use a bus a few times since lockdown release. It is only young people I see without masks. They think they are immune. My mother is on the shield list and I myself have just came out of hospital due to an operation. I can't visit my mother due to these selfish people
This is heart wrenching. I found out days after a visit that tested positive. Both my nail tech and my stylist (who is also a friend) had to calm ME down. I was distraught, even though they both tested negative. I've been out of quarantine for over a month but I still worry about all the strangers I might have accidentally infected. I truly hope that this selfish person learns a lesson.
This is exactly why certain states have it worse then others! PEOPLE JUST DON'T CARE ABOUT ANY ONE BUT THEMSELVES! How many posts or people have we seen "oh I had grey hair!" Boo freakity whoo!!!
The end result of American individualism, loud and clear. I want my nails done so I will pass on a contagious disease that may kill you, because no one except myself matters. People like this are the reason my family has been in hardcore lockdown since this whole thing started. There's way too many of them in the US, and they all think like this.
first, if the nail tech becomes ill there should be some form of assault charge for this client to have knowingly gone to her for service without telling her of her diagnosis. i also agree that every local tech should be notified of her identity, thus banning her from future service. this mentality of 'needing' nails done or a hair cut is the epitome of selfish vanity. i do not have covid but even when the salons opened up in my area i refuse to go because of people being selfish in this manner. my stylist may be free of infection but those that come into the salon may not. so, i have been literally shaving my hair to 3/4 inch. do i miss having a style? actually, no. even when this all calms down i may still be shaving my head. but, i will admit it was nerve wracking to do the first time.
May karma get that horrible woman. And anyone she was exposed to stay healthy.
I have been told by members of a Lutheran church near me that Trump was sent by God to support their beliefs. I asked if it is ok to ignore 7 or 8 of the 10 Commandments to support one. With out hesitation they all agreed that it is. It’s very hard for me to understand how anyone would actively support a person whose ethics, morals and belief system are contrary to everything they were taught throughout life. I now have fewer friends than I thought I had, but I refuse to change my values. Did 40% of Americans recant the values they grew up with or does Trump really represent the values they have always had but hid?
Do they not sell nail files/varnish remover etc in the US? Entitled b***h.
Veeery sympathetic to that poor manicurist. My barbers were very strict when they re-opened, no beard trims for the first few weeks in accordance with government regs. Masks and face shields for workers. Masks for me until we get to the beard. Retailers now, rather late, require masks. Everyone clear about not going places when sick. In other fora, I've expressed really sarcastic thoughts but I want to take care. I know that here in Canada many of our lockdown rules were less strict- we could ALWAYS walk outside if we maintained distance. So I did. More than ever. I know that in some countries the rules needed to be tighter so some people started to get stir crazy at home. Although some started to moan to that effect very early, after 4-5 months I get it. Still, grown men and women do not complain "I just had to get out of the house", or prioritize aesthetic care over safety. These are the whines of children.
Violate quarantine should = put in ACTUAL solitary quarantine (at their own expense) PLUS a minimum $10,000 fine which will be garnered from any future earnings / unemployment benefits etc.. SERIOUSLY. >:(
It's called nail clippers and a nail file.... for the love of your god... GROW. A. BRAIN. >:(
Only 2 days of self quarantine? I cannot believe that's all it took to break her. Other people have not left their homes for weeks or months even. and to expose an immunocompromised person is more selfish and dangerous than I can ever understand.
Oh I was in Quarentine for two days and HAAAD to get out of the house!! SERIOUSLY!!? WTAF!?!
This couple got arrested and charged for going shopping and hanging out in public places without a mask, after testing positive. They didn’t quarantine. So there is precedent. We have devolved into a nation of morons. The client has no ethics or morals.
I can't believe that people like her exist. Then again in my country, some geniuses thought it'd be okay to go tested positive in a Karaoke bar.
You're soooooo stupid. And soooooo selfish. People like you make everyone lose their faith in humanity...
Sounds like she just wanted a service free and is a s**t person who doesn't care what ppl think. Truth is it is against the law both ways wether she had it or not, it also can ruin the persons business. This is a huge lawsuit either way you look at it
The manicure set is just a godsend for me, since the price of a manicure set https://zamberg.com/collections/manicure-sets in the Zamberg online store is the best in stores I know. Plus the tools are all professional which makes my hands softer and prettier.
This right here is the reason we will never win the battle against this virus, people are not doing what they are supposed to. If everyone had done what they were supposed to during the first global shut down, we might have had a fighting chance. There are always inconsiderate people who believe that the rules and recommendations do not apply to them, so they are knowingly or unknowingly spreading it, with no end in sight. I do believe the people doing these things should be criminally prosecuted, they were able to prosecute people who knowingly spread the HIV virus in years gone by, I think they should do the same for people like this.
I'd make her name known and then turn her invisible like that old Twilight Zone episode and the world ignores her until she goes insane.
I have heart disease, COPD, and am 72 years old. I feel your pain about needing your nails done, but I'm kinda angry because I want to keep living my life a while longer sooooooooo bad.
While it was completely wrong for the girl to do this, but if the nail tech is immunosurpresed, why did she agree to see anyone?
This woman is a stupid f**k. Thinking that her needs are more important than the lives around her. How ignorant and selfish of her to possible infect "X" amount of others.
It seems suspect this person (the client) would have volunteered this info vs staying under the radar. I give it a high chance this was a made up situation.
If the client had admitted to being exposed she wasn't supposed to take the appointment.

Surely you can read a graph and see how bad the problem is in the US, and other parts of the world. Stop turning COVID into a political statement. It is not. It is a health issue. Desist in comparing apples to oranges.
