After 20 Years On Stage Using Makeup Christina Aguilera Does A Shoot Without It, And We Can’t Recognize Her
She’s never been shy about dolling herself up with vivid eyeliner and her trademark deep shades of lipstick, but now Christina Aguilera has joined the make-under trend, and she looks just stunning.
Following on from Demi Lovato’s revealing revealing video for Vogue, Aguilera stripped bare for the cover of Paper Magazine cover. In a series of close-up shots titled Transformation, we discover that she actually has freckles, and beneath the bold, brash persona she usually presents to the world is a softer, younger-looking woman whom many commenters agree, looks even better!
“I’ve always been someone that obviously loves to experiment, loves theatrics, loves to create a story-line and play a character in a video or through a stage,” she said in her interview with Paper. “I’m a performer, that’s who I am by nature. But, I’m at the place, even musically, where it’s a liberating feeling to be able to strip it all back and appreciate who you are and your raw beauty.”
Similar to the reactions after Lovato’s makeunder, some people have expressed skepticism with the ‘bare’ trend. Pointing out that the stars are still wearing some make-up, have undergone cosmetic surgery and have the luxury of a team of beauty advisers around them, not everybody is convinced that these pampered celebrities going ‘natural’ does anything to inspire or empower other women to do the same. It is just a new standard of barely attainable beauty to aspire to.

Aunt Messy, I'm sure you have great skin for a 55-year-old, but have some photos taken of yourself at that close range and you'll see that even though you don't have major wrinkles, your skin texture and tone are not the same as a 30 year old.
Aunt Messy, no one is denying that she's a nice looking woman, but she is wearing make- up and if you're familiar with Photoshop, you can actually see where the the blur tool has been used to smooth out her skin. We're just pointing out that the declaration that she's all natural in these pics is false.

Yes it’s frustrating for people to try to pass it off as all natural just because they’re not wearing stage makeup. Also confusing for younger people when things are photoshopped and passed off as someone all natural. This serves to skew young people’s lens of reality and how humans actually look naturally
I've never met a woman (aside from some Chinese relatives of my husband's) that didn't have any wrinkles around the eyes by 37. Either she's some kind of freak of nature, or photoshop has been at work here. She looks more like 17.

if you look at pics of tattooed freckles, you can def tell. Likewise, it's hard to make cosmetically applied freckles look real. These look just like my freckles. Some big, some small, some larger, some small. Some barely-there. It's the best fake freckle job I've ever seen.

Of course, she is gorgeous in those pictures etc. I don't care if she got any surgeries or not - perhaps she had because she's rich. But (I don't know like You Pandas) I'm a little bit tired of the new "celebrities natural look" trend. I mean - when strong makeup and plastic surgeries and that whole "artificial luxury appearance" was fashionable, we have got a lot of idealized pictures of actress and models or singers in magazines and that's why we got complexes. Now a whole Hollywood and every kind of celebrity try to prove us that even without makeup the celebrities still looks "so beautiful", "so natural", "so gorgeous" or in another word: better than us - usual people. I think it just makes the whole thing getting worse than it used to be.
I see what you're saying, but the natural trend is just another illusion. I have yet to see any of the celebrities "natural" trend photos where the celebs really weren't wearing make-up and the photos weren't retouched. The pretense is what annoys me.

She is wearing a lot of makeup in the natural photoshoot: foundations, bronzers, highlighters, natural mascara, painted on freckles, eyebrow gel and tint, lip tint and who knows what else. Also: the images are PhotoShopped. I have worked on many shoots and have seen the "natural look" done many times. She looks gorgeous but to call this natural simply isn't true.

I bet, Hodor could look like that with enough effort.

It's great that she has two personas. One for the stage and one for real life. I would have never guessed that in her "real life" photos that that was her. I think she actually looks better in the more "real" pics. In the first pic. I know that was done for the RuPaul Drag Queen show so she was especially dolled up, but she was way to made up for my tastes, even for the show. Just my humble opinion of course, the lady is still fabulous!

She is still wearing make up and the photos have also been touched up,but Yes,she looks stunning.Even with the heavy eye make-up she looks so much better thank usual.Maybe it's time for her to up date to this much more modern look.

It's great that she has two personas. One for the stage and one for real life. I would have never guessed that in her "real life" photos that that was her. I think she actually looks better in the more "real" pics. In the first pic. I know that was done for the RuPaul Drag Queen show so she was especially dolled up, but she was way to made up for my tastes, even for the show. Just my humble opinion of course, the lady is still fabulous!

The natural look does not mean make up free. She is obviously wearing makeup, it is just a different look for her. These are beautiful in a different way and she would also be beautiful without makeup.
