She’s never been shy about dolling herself up with vivid eyeliner and her trademark deep shades of lipstick, but now Christina Aguilera has joined the make-under trend, and she looks just stunning.
Following on from Demi Lovato’s revealing revealing video for Vogue, Aguilera stripped bare for the cover of Paper Magazine cover. In a series of close-up shots titled Transformation, we discover that she actually has freckles, and beneath the bold, brash persona she usually presents to the world is a softer, younger-looking woman whom many commenters agree, looks even better!
“I’ve always been someone that obviously loves to experiment, loves theatrics, loves to create a story-line and play a character in a video or through a stage,” she said in her interview with Paper. “I’m a performer, that’s who I am by nature. But, I’m at the place, even musically, where it’s a liberating feeling to be able to strip it all back and appreciate who you are and your raw beauty.”
Similar to the reactions after Lovato’s makeunder, some people have expressed skepticism with the ‘bare’ trend. Pointing out that the stars are still wearing some make-up, have undergone cosmetic surgery and have the luxury of a team of beauty advisers around them, not everybody is convinced that these pampered celebrities going ‘natural’ does anything to inspire or empower other women to do the same. It is just a new standard of barely attainable beauty to aspire to.

Or photoshop free. I agree that the "natural" look is still better than all the make-up.

Looks like celebrities wear make up to protect their privacy, so they could live their lives in peace. I say this because she looks unrecognizable (kind of). Gorgeous, of course, but like a totally different person.

Of course, she is gorgeous in those pictures etc. I don't care if she got any surgeries or not - perhaps she had because she's rich. But (I don't know like You Pandas) I'm a little bit tired of the new "celebrities natural look" trend. I mean - when strong makeup and plastic surgeries and that whole "artificial luxury appearance" was fashionable, we have got a lot of idealized pictures of actress and models or singers in magazines and that's why we got complexes. Now a whole Hollywood and every kind of celebrity try to prove us that even without makeup the celebrities still looks "so beautiful", "so natural", "so gorgeous" or in another word: better than us - usual people. I think it just makes the whole thing getting worse than it used to be.

I see what you're saying, but the natural trend is just another illusion. I have yet to see any of the celebrities "natural" trend photos where the celebs really weren't wearing make-up and the photos weren't retouched. The pretense is what annoys me.

Ok, so she gets surgery, a Vampirelifting, needling, spa, some fillers, some botox, extensions, facecream made of the tears of colibries mixed with ambrosia, styling and nude make up by highly paid professionals, good lightning and fuckloads of retouching...aaand she looks like a fifteen year old, what a freaking natural surprise! I bet, Hodor could look like that with enough effort.
