There's an interesting phenomenon called the 'other race effect'. I learned about it in uni psychology. It should be easily searchable. Anyway, what was found that when you aren't exposed much to ethnicities other than your own (and your family and friends are that same ethnicity, say caucasian) people found it more difficult to distinguish individuals from other individuals of a different ethnicity (say, African American). Aparently that is why some people find 'they all look the same'. Sometimes this statement isn't rooted in racism it's because to that person they truly do look much the same. That's what I remember from my uni days anyway. They also found that the other race effect was significantly lesser in people who were exposed to a variety of ethnicities.

Thank, Lucy. Yes, I heard about it and it's an interesting piece of information none the less. However, the real problem here is the approach. So many people are just quick to point fingers in accusation instead of saying "hold on, maybe it's not them, maybe it's me". And that's where most of that racism comes from. Anyway, I've witnessed such extreme cases where someone couldn't distinguish between 3 objectively different looking Japanese actresses. One had a round face with soft looking features, one had an oval face with aggressive looking features, while the other one had more of a square jawbone. Each of them had different hairstyles too. And each of them differently shaped eyes and noses. That wasn't even face blindness, it was rejection to see. Anyway... Whatever. Let's all just be more rational and more considerate. It's a global era, after all.
