Kitten Escapes Pet Store Display To Meet Its Lonely Dog Friend
211Kviews
A squeaky kitten and a tiny puppy were separated by a plastic barrier at JoLinn Pet House, a pet store in Taiwan. The rebellious kitten just couldn’t deal with it anymore and decided to escape its booth to play with the pup.
The kitten jumped from its display in the most adorable clumsy manner as one could expect from such a fluffball. As the kitten was uneasily balancing over the pup’s booth, the pooch couldn’t hold its excitement, too, and stood on its two paws to help the kitty get in. One brave jump and the two were together!
As cute as it may look, it serves as a reminder of the upsetting isolation baby animals have to endure at pet stores at the age when they are desperate for company. Adopt, don’t shop!

Ban the sale of cats and dogs in pet shops NOW!
And rabbits, rats, hamsters and other animals... They are not things to be sold.
I guess it is ok to sell animals...what is problematic is considering animals to be "things".
I think that parrots and other smart birds should be animals that you have to adopt. They are just as smart (probably smarter) than dogs and cats and need even more care!
Agree with you... all of them suffer a lot behind the walls, and there are many more on rescues

But they are okay to eat. Yum!
That's a good point. It's crazy to sell them when hundreds are euthanized every day for want of owners.
Unless they are rescues, but is they were bought from mills its a different story. Ban puppy mills!
and let them LIVE alone ;p
They are in Taiwan... At least they are not on the way to become dinner.
I've recently started to think we should do anyway with Zoo's as well. If we need to rescue animals we should just have large open sanctuaries. Humans could take tours through them instead of gawking behind glass and cages.
I think the issue is in the policy. Zoos aren't necessarily in and of themselves bad. They can in fact be a bastion of education and conservation for everything involved if done correctly. But it hinges on proper care of the animal, both in immediate and long term. That goes for more than just basic physical need; humans at large need to realize that we aren't the only species with psychological, sociological, and emotional needs. The needs might vary depending on the species, but they're always there. The reason pet stores are so atrocious, going on topic for a moment, is because they completely ignore this to the detriment of the animal.
If we did away with zoo facilities which also serve as education centers them children would never be able to learn to respect wild animals. What about all the endangered animals that are housed and cared for there.... Zoos are animal sanctuaries.
I think that zoos should just be bigger.
You want to have the carnivores in the same area as the herbivores? Also, you want multiple species of top-tier predators in the same area because you think they'll peacefully coexist and won't war and kill each others offspring? I dunno...
exactly... this is SO sad...
pretty sure its not aloud here in the UK, maybe about 20 years ago, but I've not seen cats and dogs for sale in shops since.
There are two awful shops in Leeds and Manchester called Dogs4Us which are literally 'puppy supermarkets. They have proven links with puppy farming. There's a petition on Change.org about them.
Not true. I saw pups up for sale at Harrods
Dogs4us is a terrible name...It's like Toys4Us. Sounds like mass production, which it is.

Yeah! Let them breed naturally! No shots, no spaying or neutering, let them run free!!! What could possibly go wrong?
It should be mandatory that you adopt both, they must not be separated.
Literal package deal
Best reply ever. 100 points for you!
Shame on you Bored Panda for posting this as 'cute' - it is NOT cute. It highlights the cruelty of puppies and kittens being sold in pet shops. #wheresmum

I agree. BAN the sales in shops.
The article's last paragraph addresses this.
Bravo! I totaly agree with you. These two babies have been taken away from their mothers to soon. How cruel.
It's absolutely adorable to me. Your issue has nothing to do with whether or not this is cute. If the kitty was with mom and siblings, and the puppy the same and they all had a giant area to run around in, would it be cute then? If so, then it's cute now.
Totally agree! Promoting selling animals in pet shops is totally wrong
