Guy Turns His Cat Into A Total Badass With This 3D Printed Armor

A creative named Jwall from PrintThatThing just made his orange pet cat Bobo a 3D armor. Now his feline is battle-ready and not afraid of any threats. Oh, and it gets better – Jwall offers his medieval armor for cats design for free, you just need to print it out. “Now cats all over the world can roam safely,” says the man. “The entire design can be built with one hundred percent 3D printer-made parts.” And if you’re not too savvy with 3D printing technology, fear not! JWall offers all the help you need on his page.

“We started off first just drawing out how we wanted the overall look and vibe of the armor to be,” said Jwall, “and I suggested that it should have spikes because I always pet [Bobo] in a reverse pattern so his hair’s all crazy and he looks like a spiky tiger.” The armor is also functional – one of the plates has a small hole for a leash and there’s an ID tag attached to the breastplate. So, no matter what battle your adorable cat gets into, now you can be sure the feline will come back home safe and sound.

JWall wasn’t completely done with this 3D printing idea either, as any armor cannot be done without a helmet. However, constructing one for a cat can be quite a challenge and that’s why he asked for ideas from other people on his Thingiverse page. Many people submitted their sketches and designs and in the end, JWall chose Craig Petersen’s design of the helmet.

Craig sent in 3 designs titled “The Oni”, “Eye of the Scorpion” and “Battle Kitteh of the Universe” of which JWall chose the last option. After the concept for the helmet was chosen, it took JWall a couple of weeks to transfer Craig’s work to a 3D program. And then his cool cat Bobo modeled it proudly after the helmet was finally printed.

Oh dear. I think it is a really cool design, but at the same time, pets are not toys or accessories.... btw, neither or children.

Great idea, we can make a child version too, and make them all fight in an arena

I understand the whole, “pets aren’t toys or accessories” bit, but like several other commenters have stated, only a cat who’s comfortable wearing clothing could possibly wear this. It gets pretty cold where I live in the winter time, even with the heater on, so I bought my two cats little sweaters to help keep them warm. Loki absolutely loved his; he pranced around, head held high, his confidence soaring to fabulously egotistical levels. Luci, miserable and defeated, flopped on her side and refused to move and as such, does not wear clothing. As far as the whole, “it’s dangerous for your cat to wear!” nonsense, for f**k’s sake, no person with 1/1000 of a brain would ever leave their cat in this unattended. It's a show piece for fun when you walk your cat outside or to wear inside for shits and giggles, letting your furry friend feel like the little badass that they are. Get over yourselves.

i sure only a cat that is used to wear stuff is going to take that , because a cat that is not used to stuff or leashes is not going to be happy and just stress out for no good reason.

I'm also sick of people thinking they can treat animals as their toys, plus there are many things that the cat would get stuck on with those points, hooks and loops so it's likely to endanger the cat. They have their own instinct to look after themselves so leave them alone.

He doesn’t seem to mind...and he’s a cat. If he wasn’t all right with it, you’d KNOW it.
