I have lived in Calgary, Canada, since 1961, and one of the most impressive features to the Downtown is the Plus 15 indoor pathway network.
Being semi retired and a life long photographer, I could not resist the recording of this fabulous downtown environment.
Back in the 70’s, a plan started to connect buildings in the downtown to make it to move between buildings in the many -30 C days that occurs in the winter. Now there are over 8 miles of pathways through buildings connected by enclosed bridges that are 15 Ft above the street. At last count, there are 62 bridges in place and there are very few buildings not connected. The result is a barrage of shops, eateries and artwork that can be accessed by the many thousands working downtown. A community of itself.
