In this modern age, where air travel is so common, it’s not that easy to find someone who hasn’t ever taken a flight. But since this type of transportation is rarely cheap, most of us choose to save and stay with the economy class.
Still, if you've ever wondered if picking the business class would be worth it, you don’t necessarily have to do it first to find out because this TikToker has done it for you by flying with luxury airlines over 20 times, and he’s here to share what those experiences were like. Scroll down to check out the ratings!

the more you scroll down going through the "reviews", the more this tiktokker loses credibility,
The TikToker providing us with these ratings is Drake Pooley - a New York City resident, Stanford Graduate School of Business student, tech finance worker, and a frequent flyer. He has over 57,500 followers and roughly 2.2 million likes on TikTok alone.
The first part of one of his most recent videos, where he decided to rate the luxurious airline experiences he has flown, has taken the internet by storm. It went viral with over 2.7 million views, almost 77,000 likes, and plenty of likes, comments, and shares.
While the second part of the video was less successful, it still managed to grab close to 300,000 views and over 8,000 likes, making the combination quite successful by today’s online standards.
No way. Did EVA from London to Bangkok earlier this year and it was AWFUL. Walked past rows of business that I thought were economy plus, they were so small. Actually economy was tiny. The food was disgusting. I honestly could only eat a few bites of mine. Maybe up in business it's good but it was awful in cattle class. Flight attendants kept slamming my window shade down despite the fact it wasn't night in either or departure or destination.
I mean, ANA's brand color scheme is blue and white. Those are the old business class seats, because they've changed their business class seats to be wider with more privacy and the seats are dark gray.

That’s why we did some additional research and looked for a more in-depth review, which we found in an article by The Barefoot Nomad.
The article begins by explaining that not all business-class tickets are equal. Some might be a huge step up from what you’d usually get, offering lay-flat seats, meals designed by famous chefs, bars, and excellent service, while others might be nothing more than slightly upgraded economy-class tickets with a bit larger seats at the front of the plane and usually fewer children around.
I traveled with Qatar but only on economy. It's cool enough. It's value for money
The food is usually a huge advantage the business class has over the economy class. The quality and the variety will likely be higher, with some airlines, like Air France, even commissioning Michelin Star chefs, like Anne-Sophie Pic, to create several dishes for their customers. In addition, you can snack on demand and even possibly get complimentary drinks. However, this only really applies to the longer flights rather than the short-haul ones.
When it comes to seating, most luxury seating will have a significantly higher level of it. The seats tend to be bigger and offer reclining functionality as well as extra legroom, with some even having lie-flat beds. While comfort is nice, this also means that you can get a good night’s rest and even possibly save on a hotel as you’ll have a lot more energy when you get off and will need a shorter stay.
Never flown Business Class myself, but as far as economy class for Air Canada. The only thing I don't like about flying AC is often their flights are delayed. I prefer flying AC over WJ.
I think the complaints about AC is regarding their domestic flights. Internationally, they seem quite popular.
Of course, there are always ways to save, even when picking a more expensive option, and The Barefoot Nomad has a few tips on how you could do it:
- Wait for an offer to get a last-minute, discounted upgrade.
- Use your frequent flyer status or airline points.
- Book your tickets as early as possible.
- Look out for lower prices from alternative airports.
- Consider opting for premium economy tickets, which are in between economy and business class.
Their economy is also ok. What I like in them they in CPH airport you don't need to walk 30 minutes to reach the gates.
I have not flyed with air new zealand. But my experience with Qantas business class was awful. Bad service, common meal and the air stewardess were not friendly. Pyjamas was given to some passengers but not to many of us.
In the end, the article explains that it really comes down to your budget. If you have the money, this experience is usually absolutely worth it, especially if you need to fly a long distance and plan to take advantage of the benefits that come with it. But if money is more scarce than you’d like it to be, there are still ways to ensure your flight is not an endurance test, even without going for a business-class seat. Just remember to do your research!
But regardless of whether you plan to fly any luxurious airline or not, it’s nice to know what to expect if you ever have an opportunity to do so, and these ratings sure do help to get a clearer picture of it.
What did you think of this? Have you ever flown in business class and would like to share how it went? Come to the comments and type away!
B******t. Have flown Lufthansa many times and they are bar-none the best airline I have flown, and I've flown some other very reputable airlines to compare, not just US lines. 2/10 is an insane take.
Maybe 2/10 is harsh - but Lufthansa remain firmly on my "avoid" list.
Load More Replies...This is a ridiculous ranking. Lufthansa may have issues, but the lounges are great - have you ever stepped in a US lounge ? - for is fine and staff is really nice. And a very important advantage : in case of any issue like delay or missed connection, Lufthansa will support you, unlike many of the other listed companies...
Someone had a bad day, in my experiences Lufthansa has been good, way better than US carriers. Singapore airlines still best, but Lufthansa is not far behind
It depends upon the aircraft, not just the line. IMO wonderful staff, great food, very comfortable (lying flat) sear, slept well on Frankfurt to Chicago flight, 5 stars
We booked Business Class with Singapore Air from Prague to Sydney, had to fly with Lufthansa to Frankfurt to pick up flight on Singapore. The Business Class was a row of three standard seats on each side, with the middle seat blocked off. Luckily it was a fairly short sector. The food was fantastic.
They still fly old 747s which may explain the depicted seats. Old school
I guess someone who wants a really fluffy soft set up? Bedding in some parts of the world can be thin and hard. But I wouldn't expect big fluffy pillows etc on a plane
Load More Replies...Emirates is good s**t too. Luftansa and Emirates are by far the best airlines I've flown in my life.
I love Emirates too. It's also value for money just like qatar.even on economy
And it's food and it's wine, but I agree that service is not it's strength
Load More Replies...This is a useless review. So this is considered worse than American Airlines according to this person? Please.
Attendants not good at job, food not good 7/10. Everything great but wifi a little costly 5/10. This person has lost all credibility.
Never doing United ever again. Had a flight from Bangkok to Los Angeles, with a layover in Tokyo. JAL to Tokyo, then United to LA. We get an email from United 5 hours before our flight telling us that our second flight had changed, and layover was 15 minutes. 15 minutes to exit the plane, go through customs, and get to the other side of the airport to get to our plane. We get to the airport to find out that it didn't matter. United changed the flight again. By the time we get to Tokyo, the flight would have already left. Credit to JAL for working hard to make things right. Best flight we got was Bangkok-Tokyo-Boston-Los Angeles. A 16 hour trip turned into 33 hours. All thanks to United. I will give credit to their flight attendants. They were wonderful, and I do like they gave full cans of soda.
Unfortunately, you are right about the flight attendants. You would never guess that you were in business class..
What's wrong with people? It's either "too sterile" or "gaudy and ugly".
Why would you take a budget airline business class. Should have just gone and taken CX
If you felt a huge language barrier… why didn’t you learn a bit of Cantonese before the flight? You should never assume that everyone will always be fluent in your language, even if it’s English.
Sure, because learning any random language just in case I fly an airline once makes total sense ....
Load More Replies...Rating the decor as "gaudy and ugly" is very personal. I feel like this reviewer has very particular tastes as somehow everything is wrong. It's either "sterile" or "gaudy" 🙄
In another post, they appreciated a flight's hello kitty theme; nothing wrong with that, just making the connection.
Load More Replies...AA flight attendants from MIA to MAD were the most unprofessional flight attendants that I had experienced in any business class service. They were also dressed the most unprofessional looking of all of the flight attendants in this list. Nose rings and dog choker collars, really?
This is the real s**t that the people want. People finding ways to complain about first class seating. Article is bound to be a true winner!
This has gotta be one of the least relative articles on here. Oh boo hoo, I'm so rich I've gotta complain about the huge amount of sitting space on a dämn airplane. I can't even afford a middle seat of the cheapest airfare.
Great. Now do a list comparing the seats that 99% of us can afford.
Bro it's FIRST CLASS yall can't complain EDIT: Business class, but still better than economy
Well, no, its Business Class,. I have been on both on several airlines and there is a huge difference.
Load More Replies...This whole list is so f***ING entitled! You're complaining about service on a $10k flight? Dear God that could feed a family for a freaking year!? How tone deaf, nobody feels bad for your rich people problems. Nobody
I wouldn't complain on a $49 flight, but if I paid $10,000 you best believe I want exceptional service for that price.
Load More Replies...I flew business class on BA from London to Canada about a year ago and it was lovely. I’ve flown a business on Air Canada a couple times domestically but never overseas. The seats were alternating facing forward or backward with privacy screens in between. The thing that threw me was how attentive and solicitous the flight attendants were. I pressed my call bell at one point and they came to my seat about five minutes later and were so apologetic I had to wait. Like, where am I going? 😆 I’m in no rush. It was a great experience but given the cost difference, I wouldn’t opt to pay for it myself (none of the three times I’ve been in business class were on my dime). The BEST parts were the short baggage drop line and the priority lane for security.
