This isn't being lazy at all, it's being very efficient. He obviously has the tools and knowledge to automate simple things allowing him to concentrate on more difficult tasks.
THANK you. Automating repetitive tasks takes work & skill, but saves time in the long run. Nothing lazy about it.
Load More Replies...i can relate to this guy. i work in IT myself and as the only girl in my team i always feel like i have to work a bit longer and a bit harder than everyone else. so i figured ..hey.. i could write something to help me detect hwen one of the customers in the buildings has a problem with something. so i did. now everytime someone has trouble i get a small message and head on my way. sometimes i even arrive just seconds after they officially asked for help.
If you are any kind of computer geek, you'd get it. There are many times that I'm down at my husbands work and a coworker will come in with a problem. After 10 minutes of what I can only describe as gibberish, the co-worker leaves. Then he'll look at me and explain in layman's terms what they were talking about. As far as the article, the guy basically programmed his computer to send automated replies by scanning for key words, to automatically tell his wife he would be late if he was still working past a certain hour, to call in sick for him if he hadn't started work by a certain time..and programmed the computer when to tell the coffee maker to kick on and make him a latte...

"I will always choose a lazy person to do a difficult job because a lazy person will find an easy way to do it." I think it fits this article perfectly
Not Bill Gates. Frank B. Gilbreth Sr has the oldest known published version of this quote and its from 1920. Many a great person has used this quote though because it's brilliant. I had the same thought while I was reading it.
Load More Replies...thanks. i once got asked if i can teleport because he (the customer) literally just sent the notification button seconds before i knocked on the office door. it secretly makes my day when people wonder how i knew there was an error without even asking for help. huehuehue...
