The closer you look, the more these intricate bronze sculptures reveal. USA-based Columbian artist Nano Lopez‘s distinctive bright style produces pieces that look like from a world without borders of ordinary maps. “I <…> look for all kind of textures that make the pieces aesthetically more interesting,” Lopez said. “With the animals, for example, you are trying to find enough power so that it’s not a representation of a horse or a giraffe, but it’s the piece itself. It’s, first of all, that piece.”

Boy, I just Love to watch real craftsmen at work, doing what they do best. Watching the process of how they do things is every bit as wonderful, as admiring the finished product. Kudos!
I love watching molding & the bronze process , but, my tastes run to purist , without a lot of adornment. That doesn't mean this is not talent, for, it is.
We fell in love with Nano's work a few years ago and plunked down $17,000 for "Gear Cential" (#3). It is the showpiece of our living room and there isn't a day that goes by that we don't spend time looking for something on the statue that we haven't seen before. You have to see these sculpture in person, they are unbelievable... Lopez-Gear...8aab4f.jpg
