What It’s Like To Be A Body Painter At 14 Years-Old

I have always been a unique and creative person. Drawing, painting, and makeup had always been passions of mine. I didn’t ever think I would find a thing that made me feel like I could combine all of them. Hi, My name’s Katie and i’m a body painter and special effects makeup artist.

I’m almost 15, and to this day I’m the only person I know my age that spends most of their time looking at there self for hours on end and consider it “fun”. Instead of being arrested or pregnant like most of my fellow freshman, I typically am at home with a Beatles vinyl in the background sat at my makeup table.

People view body painting as something extremely hard that you need to be a professional at. Not true! Not everything you do has to look like something on Face-Off. Most of the painting I do isn’t just to post on Instagram. A lot of it is practice work, like trying out different lines or seeing how shading may affect a makeup look I’m doing. Not all of it is on the internet and I don’t plan on it to ever be that way.

I also do YouTube videos, and I post some of my body painting there.

In conclusion, there are a lot of different mediums people can use to be creative, and mine happens to be makeup. I also do special effects and regular everyday beauty makeup. Don’t be afraid to express yourself or try something new. If I hadn’t had ordered that body paint I wouldn’t be doing the thing I love most in this world.
