I don't think this is a knock-off. It looks to be something like I saw in Switzerland some years back with cows - various companies sponsored a fibreglass cow and painted it up in various designs and then placed it outside on the street. Some of them were really good. I'm guessing this is a similar idea but using koalas becuase its Oz.

While back I was all excited because I found black Sharpie markers super cheap at the dollar store and I needed them for a project I was having students do in class. Sadly, I found out they were "Shoopies" (font and coloring just like a Sharpie) and they had to be thrown away. I was worried the intense fumes of all those opened markers would have made the class high.
