All Cats are grey in the dark. Of course not only cats, but everything else is grey in the dark, so the appearances are meaningless after the light goes out. But since this proverb appeared in 1546, the cats in the dark became the symbol of this concept. When all candles be out, all cats be grey. Three cats are on their usual nightshift duty, two on the red rooftop, one is lazily stretching on the branch of the tree. The moonlight creates on them a green shadow, adding colour to their grey pyjamas. The night is still, nothing moves, but they are pretty sure in their importance. Seemingly doing nothing but meanwhile controlling the Whole Universe! The Night Shift Cat Art painting is the part of my Cat Inspired Art Collection. Meditation Cat Art by Dora Hathazi Mendes. Cats knows best when is about meditation, relaxing mind and body. They exactly know when to switch off the engine, and when they need to recharge the batteries. Purring, is their feline version for chanting, and although we do not know exactly why they do it, the effect is obvious, the whole world calm down around them, even us just being in their aura, and listening their monotone chant. A white cat having his usual catnap, surrounded with beautiful organic motifs of book illustrations from the 19th century Art Nouveau, and a hand painted mosaic silver frame create a unique peaceful scene. The legend of the Siamese Cat Art by Dora Hathazi Mendes. Once upon a time, an Eastern princess of Siam went to her daily bath to a lake. As usual, she was accompanied by her favourite cat, a Siamese. Because she was worrying for losing her ring, she placed it into the tail of the cat. The cat bended his tail for preventing the ring to fall off, and gradually over the years the tail of the Siamese Cat became with a permanent kink. By the tale the Siamese Cats were highly appreciated for their kinked tail, but today considered as a fault of the breed. On my painting I used freely the attributes of the Siamese, because one of their uniqueness is the sky blue eyes, and point coloration. Other eye colours are more typical for Orient Cats which breed practically have Siamese body and soul with different fur pattern and eye colour. If I keep this up, I'll soon be writing in Hungarian. Now there's a thought.

Cat Cocktail Cat art by Dora Hathazi Mendes is a bright, colourful painting about a mixture of cats with different colours, patterns, motifs representing the diversity of this amazing animal species. Indian Cat with Lilies Cat Art by Dora Hathazi Mendes. Red Cat on my painting is with the forbidden flower, as Lilies are highly poisonous for cats. She is wearing a Bindi, which is a forehead sign in Hindu religion, and has many spiritual and religious meanings, for instance represent the third eye which believed gives spiritual vision, but also believed to bring luck, or chase away evil spirits, or demons. So, there is no need to worry, she is protected, therefore on my painting is became more of an enhancement of beauty, to salute to these gorgeous felines.
