Every decade had something cool and authentic about it, but the ‘80s were probably the most colorful and fun. Bright, neon colors, ABBA, Queen, and Madonna on the radio, broad-shouldered power suits, poofy hair, and boomboxes are now the quintessential things we associate with the 1980s.
If you’re partial to that period, here are some throwbacks from the aptly titled subreddit r/80s. These pics are bound to take you back to a simpler time when there were no smartphones, social media, and doomscrolling, when McDonald’s stools were shaped like burgers, and your grandparents’ taste in home decor seemed more than questionable. But what wouldn’t we give to have it all back for just a day?

It makes me sad to see that Hands Across America is on # 28 right now. Is it because you're all to young to remember that in those days millions of people united for protests against poverty, hunger in Afrika and the b**b. Over 20 million people bought 'We are the World', millions of European youngsters had buttons against racism. As a teenager my parents took me to a huge peaceful protest against the cold War and The B**b (half a million people in The Hague). When asked what nostalgic things from the '80s I desperately wish I could have back: peaceful protests and feeling safe enough to share my left opinion through buttons, posters and bumper stickers. Not canned fruit.
