Due to Hurricane Beryl, myself and my family, like most houstonians, were displaced. My husband had just landed a job at an apartment complex. Luckily they had a vacant apartment that had electricity! The manager told my husband we could sit it out in the unit till our power got restored so we were excited. We have 3 daughters (14, 11, & 1). The manager is aware of our daughters and how young they are. When I arrived with the kids and a truck full of our belongings, I was met by the self-appointed “security guard”. Let’s keep it real. It was the manager’s husband who needs something to keep him occupied when his “side hustle” is slow. Anyway, we get there, unload our things and then find out we are in a complex FULL of sex offenders/pedos. No one disclosed this information to my husband in the entirety of 4 hours or so before we got there. During our stay, we were getting into our truck and some guy walked out of an apartment a couple feet, walked back to the apartment, and walked out again all while staring at my 14-year-old. The following morning, my husband confronted the manager and she DEFENDED the guy!! (Who turned out to be a registered s.o.)

We left the complex and are just in disbelief. What would you have done?
