I wouldn’t be going in after that either ! in fact back in 2000 I had to have my beloved ex race horse put down he was 21 and had broken his foot playing silly beggars with my others in the field, (he was the great great great grandson of red rum ) I didn’t work for 6 weeks, couldn’t get on my other rideable horse either it broke me and work was brilliant ,rescue center , and my vet even checked in on me daily’ as he was worried about me so any boss as refuses just one shift off needs to get stuffed !!

I was feeling fine at work today, but as I drove home, I rapidly started sweating and having a throbbing headache, so I took a test. I sent this picture, letting him know I could not make it tomorrow. For context, the reason for the "bad timing" statement is the fact that he texted me off work hours just before I took this test and when I was already feeling unwell. Is it unreasonable of me to excuse myself so I can care for my health? I don’t feel he respects my personal needs or simply does not have the awareness, but I also honestly don’t want to let the team down if possible. I did inform both a general manager and a second-hand manager, who were both understanding.

The Picture Was Taken Last Night In The Kitchen Of The Restaurant I Work At. The Temperature Inside Was 86 Degrees. This Has Been Going On For Weeks
The hood vents have not been working properly, and it’s been dreadfully hot. The cooks are constantly sweating and miserable, one even filed a complaint with OSHA because they were tired of working in that condition. They were confronted by the owner. Servers and bartenders were raising concerns in the work group chat last night about their asthma and how customers in the front of the house can smell the smoke. Rather than assuring and being helpful to employees, the manager shut down the conversation and stated that if anyone had an issue, they could speak to them and the owner privately. They stated that they were probably affected by the storm yesterday (this has been happening for weeks) and should be fixed today. I’m pretty sure they’re under the pressure of OSHA’s grace period.

[...] your contract won't be renewed" within a day. I was young and dumb, nowadays I'd know to sue the bejeevus out of them as a contract by word of mouth is equal to a written one where I live and there were witnesses to what was said. Either the customers have a problem or the employees. I do understand but it's very tiring. When you are the manager, all problems roll downhill to you. yuck. I worked at a hospital in the emergency department for a few years. So my health went down hill amd ive so far have had 13 surgeries. I put in a time off request for a surgery I needed. It was approved. Well within days I ended up septic. I was terrified. I ended up with a life long colostomy bag. Anyways, I was in ICU for a week and hospital for a month. The kicker? I got fired for missing too many days!! They knew i was upstairs and admitted in for almost loosing my life. I got my unemployment but I took it a step further with legal 🤷♀️
