I've been working on an upcycled costume project for a pet portrait series (https://www.boredpanda.com/i-took-discarded-dogs-and-dressed-them-up-in-garbage-the-resulting-photos-were-magical/), nothing at all as creative as what you're doing. But it has still been pretty eye-opening, working on it has really changed how I look at things I would otherwise toss away - or buy, for that matter.
