I use "American Cheese" for giving them pills--it neatly wraps/sticks around a pill. Unfortunately, the medicine she had here was a liquid...but now I remember to ask the vet for the pills. ^_^

Most dogs seem to have some affinity for some vegetables. Mine love broccoli, cucumbers, tomatoes, bell peppers, carrots, and more. (It is their midday snack, since I can give them a pile of vegetables with no worries for their weight)

I gave up trying again because it would be too expensive to get the really good solid fencing to keep them out. My older dog just barreled through the fences we had like they were nothing; I swear he would've laughed while doing it if he could.

Well, you can get sick from animals licking you. OP have even lost limbs from dogs licking their wounds and infecting them. A healthy German man even died from it. It's not super common but they can give us Rabies, Norovirus, Salmonella, and Brucella, among other things.
