Rahul Khanduri created a small art community in Dehradun named Astitva. This community works with artists to bring the transformative power of art to children in care, children of refugees, children of brick kiln laborers, below poverty line family kids, Dalit girls and homeless women. Rahul believes “expressive arts have a unique capacity to encourage, heal and empower. Engaging in the acts of imagination and self-expression at their heart can change outlooks, impart confidence and self-worth, and enhance emotional, cognitive, and social well-being. Learning in the arts also cultivates the agency and voice required to join in a democratic society where everyone has the right to be heard and to contribute to the culture.”

Rahul Khanduri (@rahul_khanduri_) along with Rahul Joshi (Rahul_joshi_xx1) and Himanshu (@hi.manshu5318) of Astitva have recently completed another successful free mural workshop and rational distribution program. They handed out 25-30 goody bags to kids from Rajpur road, Dehradun. Each bag contains a sketch book, stationary set, colored crayons, a World Cow t-shirt, a World Cow mask, and some refreshments. They go door to door communicating World Cow’s message of unity: we’re all spots on the same cow. The children really love the gifts and seeing their smiles makes this heartfelt program a huge success. Astitva is preparing to paint the world’s largest World Cow as soon as the monsoon season ends.

World Cow is a global movement promoting equality. The artwork features a Holstein cow who’s spots are arranged to be the map of the world. Their message is simple. In the past year, World Cows have been painted in 14 countries by a variety of street artists that all agree, we’re all spots on the same cow. There are 195 countries in the world so World Cow needs your help reaching more. Imagine a time when everyone in the world puts aside their differences and works together.

Contact us at www.worldcow.earth for the designs and we will send them to you with basic street art instructions. We also have tutorials on Instagram and TikTok you can watch. YouTube Blek Le Rat videos to learn how to stencil. World Cow has t-shirts and bumper stickers if art isn’t your thing and a significant portion of those profits benefit a variety of charities that World Cow supports around the globe.
