MUSEUM OF ART & HISTORY LANCASTER

Following the packed opening reception for Dave Pressler’s career retrospective, “Idea to Object,” Lancaster Museum of Art History (MOAH) is thrilled to announce an artist talk and personal tour of the exhibit by Dave Pressler himself on Saturday, August 18 at 1:30pm. The exhibit showcases work from the broad scope his career, including pen & ink sketches, paintings, character sculpts he created for kids entertainment studios like The Jim Henson Company, vinyl collectible toys, the stop-motion animation set for How to Do Everything With Garrick and Marvin, never-before-seen large-scale robot sculptures, a screening room for his Emmy-nominated Nickelodeon show Robot and Monster, and more.

The exhibit maps out not only the narrative of Pressler’s entire career, but provides a deep look at how art is actually made — if you do the work. “If someone is interested in getting into the profession, hopefully it will be a little inspiration that if you put the work in and put the time in and just keep doing it, you can, in some form, express yourself,” says Pressler.

This is a rare opportunity to participate in an intimate dialogue with one of the most notable “robot artists,” as well as learn something about your own creative process.

“Idea to Object” will be on view until September 30, 2018. The Lancaster Museum of Art History is located at 665 W. Lancaster Blvd., Lancaster, CA 93534.
