Throughout her lifetime, Aviva Y Sakolsky has been creating art. She is a celebrated artist in Rockland County for her work, support and dedication to the craft. “Making art is a driving force in my life; I create to connect more deeply with myself and with others.” Aviva will be hosting her first solo exhibit throughout September at The Corner Frame Shop in Nyack, New York.
The exhibit titled “Pieces of a Life” offers a broad look into her life as an artist. The show begins with featured pieces of art created by Aviva during her Covid-19 pandemic experiences. “Visualizing and creating these pieces kept my mind occupied and gave me hope. This artwork is an expression of my fear, hope and longing for normalcy.” Her exhibit collection ends with a soulful photographic exploration of images from her life.
Through Aviva’s artistic vision, the viewer will see, and not just look at, the world around them. “Often, I approach the work from the perspective of reflection and personal restoration of mind and spirit.” Aviva has been exhibiting her artwork since 1973 and she has studied with master artist, Paul Tappenden in addition to her studies at the Museum of Modern Art, Rockland Center for the Arts and Garner Arts Center.
Art is the focal point of her life and this long overdue solo exhibit will bring that love to others. “Pieces of a Life” will be on display at The Corner Frame Shop the entire month of September 2022. To see additional works, please visit Aviva Y Sakolsky’s website.
