Book-Lover Turns Her Massive Library Into Art, And Her 140k Instagram Followers Approve
Some people like to read art books, others enjoy making art from books.
'Bookstagrammer' Elizabeth Sagan has been sharing her love for books with her 90k followers for several years, and never ceases to amaze everyone with her creative scenarios. It all began with sharing her favorite reads, then interactive shots with a bookcase. As she became more and more involved with the idea, photos got steadily more complex and creative. Today she creates intricate and inspiring artwork from her massive collection of books.
If this art form seems familiar, it's because Elizabeth brainstorms and creates literary scenes with her good friend James Trevino, whom we featured in Bored Panda earlier this year.
From a mermaid to a warrior fighting a dragon, scroll down the page and check out her cool Bookstagram gallery!

OMG!! Its SO amazing!!! My daughter is gonna love this!!! She too, is a book addict! So is her older brother! (She is 32 and he is 35) They will readily admit to having a book addiction! LOL
Would have no problem recreating the book part. But I don't think my beached whale impression surrounded by blue and sand coloured books will get any followers...
Ohhh I love this one! I wonder if some sort of dog bed could be made by somehow keeping the books together and adding a cushion? I'd buy it!
"Damaging the books". Nevermind the forests of trees cut down to make the paper. Some people cant see the forest for the trees. Follow your heart and let your soul be your guide. So what if you wrinkle a page. Wrinkle two pages. Never stop.
ik im ruining the "art" aspect but that's gotta damage the books... *visibly cringes*
Only the Avatar, master of all four elements, could stop them, but when the world needed her most, she vanished.

Load More Replies...Am I the only one who tries to spot books they know or have read xD
I try to pay attention to the books instead of her beautiful legs... :)

Derzeit sind die Folgen der Lockerung anlässlich der Feiertage noch nicht absehbar. Wir aber werden genötigt, gegen die Beschlüsse und Empfehlungen der KMK zu verstoßen. Ich bin empört.
It could well be the three parts of the trilogy xD (edit: I didn't see the other two...)
Load More Replies...who on earth would step or sleep on pages/books if they are book a lover?! confused. me being a book lover i dont even fold page i just use whatever as a book mark so it wouldnt damage the book. -_________-
Guess she likes art more. Maybe she uses doubles, or books she didn't like to lay on. It's worth it, for these pictures.
Load More Replies...Lots of Photoshop. Take a closer look and you'll see eight curved books at her hip.

Load More Replies...Harrumph, let me clear my throat to declare my suspicion that the only love of books this person possesses is equal to their capacity as things to add to her followers on Instagram. Being so busy having photos taken of herself there can hardly be any time left over to actually ever read any books. In my world, having a vast library is not the same as having bought a lot of books to use as props.
Because OF COURSE you know her personally and know that all of the book reviews she's posted on Goodreads and other bibliophile sites for years are completely made up and fake, yes?

Not long ago there was a post about a guy who was doing exactly the same thing...
I love the photos and creativity, but every photo I wince at how much time it will take to put them back. I want to go to her house and just read all the books she owns!
I know!!!! The reviews she's posted are hilarious, and even if she didn't like the book, she tries to find something good about it. I've read several new authors because of her reviews. I would love to spend some time looking through her collection.

I don't know if anyone else noticed, but in several of the pictures where you can see titles, the content of the book mirrors the intent of the photo. Not the title, the story. So, yeah, I think she does read the books, or has. There are those of us out there who naturally read very fast with total retention. I say this as not only a bibliophalic life form with a tropism for bookstores, but also as someone who doesn't need speed reading, but needs speed bookshelf building. I can read a 300 page book in an evening if I'm really into the story, so why can't she?
I tried this and my photo's looked really boring... Bloody Kindles.
Sadly, all the comments about how she couldn't have possibly read these books are exactly what I would expect from the tl:dr crowd. Just because *you* couldn't or wouldn't read this many books or wouldn't be able to do this sort of photo shoot, OBVIOUSLY no one else in the world would be able to. There are people out there who still read hard copies, and enjoy reading immensely. Just because you personally aren't like that doesn't mean no one else in the world is.
Yip, my house kind of half blew up in June, the TV and WiFi is still there, in temp housing with not that much, but they fished my kindle out with a rubbish picker along with my phone, so I bought some new chargers and poof. I'm currently on book 75 since then. Although I couldn't do this shoot, we have lots of hard copies, mostly my hubs, I have a few token series that I love, but nerve damage in my arms means I can barely hold medium books long enough to read them, let alone giant ones, So I use my kindle primarily. When I made the switch I gave books to friends, charity etc. There was.. a lot. But we still had over 50 huge double walled boxes of books when we moved, if that had been my collection and his.... Yikes. We already call the spare room the library haha.
