Many of us want to be left alone and be by ourselves with just our hobbies and our thoughts from time to time. There’s nothing wrong with that. Your friends and colleagues might have invited you out to a party, but you’re currently having a blast binge-watching Netflix and binge-eating incredibly unhealthy snacks. It’s been a long week after all, and you'll meet up with your pals another time.
These moments of social burnout, isolation, and sometimes even a wariness of opening up to others can feel very relatable to some Pandas. Especially with the seemingly endless lockdowns we had to deal with over the past couple of years. Well, the ‘Antisocial Memes’ Instagram page has a metric ton of digital humor that’s bound to make you chuckle and smile because the jokes hit way, waaaaay too close to home.
Their memes are all about the things running through our heads as we go about our day-to-day lives, and how we sometimes feel that it’s all a tad too much and that we'd prefer life to slow down just a tad, thank you very much. Don’t forget to upvote the memes that you enjoyed the most, dear Readers! And we’d absolutely love to hear which of these pics you related to the most and why, so share your thoughts in the comments.
Bored Panda got in touch with Maria and Lide, the administrators running the ‘Antisocial Memes’ page, and we also reached out to Suzanne Degges-White, a Licensed Counselor, Professor, and Chair at the Department of Counseling and Higher Education at Northern Illinois University. Read on for both interviews about the history of the page, extroversion, and why antisocial behavior isn’t the same as being introverted.

I actually find it very awkward to be around other introverts. It gets too quiet. Extroverts bring out a more talkative side of me
When you figure it out let me know. It's so awkward just sitting there.
Did this yesterday in the supermarket. Had places to be but I walked around the store until I saw them leave checkout
I doubt that people have obsessed over me like I've obsessed over them, but whatever
All throughout elementary school when I was at a super vulnerable age. Probably why I have mental issues now.
It kind of just broke me into thousands of little pieces, but hey at least I can still make and take jokes about it
I know I don't go out because of people. The only thing that actually keeps me going out is bookstores. And school I guess. But not necessarily by choice.
I had a cat who wouldn’t stop attacking my hand; he loved playing rough. I bought thicker leather work gloves and encouraged him to play rough when I wore them. If he tried to attack my hand without the gloves, I’d give a firm “No!” and walk away from him. It only took about a week for him to learn. Pet with hands? Gentle sweetheart. Play with glove on? Rabid tiger!
Sorry, you need to be at least level 6 to unlock past traumas
It's not an excuse at all. It can actually be super crippling and hard to deal with. I have social anxiety, and when I try talking to people I don't know I can't even talk half the time.
Vs when you find a lit series with 1 and a half seasons out of 3 so far and 25 minute episodes: 🥲
I'd say this is introverts while expressing with people they don't know. I'm introverted and I express a ton when I'm with people I'm close with.
Is that why I sweat more around other people? Omg I just had an epiphany.
If I ever get a cat or maybe dog whenever someone pets them I'll tell them this, even if it's not necessarily true. I know it can make people feel better.
imagining myself in 5 years is going to come up with a blurry ass photo
i stress myself out over situations that havent even happened yet and this is the result lol
It’s like when you want to go to sleep your body doesn’t let you. But when you want to wake up ur body just says “Best I can do is make you stare at the ceiling for a few minutes then you will remove you blanket and sit at your bedside for another two minutes and then you will get up and do s**t.”
Should my jokes about mental health be concerning or hilarious? If anyone knows please tell me because I can't even tell at this point.
Fr. I hate it. Whenever I can't handle emotions or don't know what to do I just start laughing and it's so annoying. Why out of all things does that have to be my fallback. Do you have any idea how many super awkward situations that's put me in? I don't but I know it's a lot!
People are not getting more annoying, I swear they are getting more stupid.
Introverts watch the same movies and shows over and over again because they find it comforting. Well, that’s my excuse anyway.
Me zoning out when someone is talking to me and pretending I heard what they said.
My friends and I "chill" by sending memes and links to "cool" articles, while at our own houses, usually either in bed or in the couch lol
I dont remember learning long division. And im over here doing geometry.
A certain number do not seem to have been created by introverts because an introvert is not necessarily depressed.... thank you.
Thank you for that. Introverts can be people who don't need the ego boost provided by validation from other people. So not really introverts as in "stuck in their head" but rather "at peace in their head."
Load More Replies...For the record, not all introverts have social anxiety, are depressed, are unmotivated, or hate people, as some of these seem to imply.
I agree strongly with this statement. I am VERY motivated to stay indoors and away from people.
Load More Replies...I don't have social anxiety, I just don't like being around people because they annoy me. I don't want to have conversations with people I don't or barely know and I don't like crowded areas. I hate when people try to force me to be included. My husband and I are both introverts and are perfectly happy. I don't know why it seems to say introverts are depressed or have anxiety.
