British Hair Awards 2016: This Finalist Afro Collection Is A Gorgeous Modern Tribute To African Culture
When it comes to hairdressing, Lisa Farrall is one of the best in her field. Her collection, Armour, won first place in 3 categories at The Black Hair Awards and was also one of the finalists in the prestigious British Hair Awards 2016.
Armour (makeup by Suhyun Kang-Emeryshot and shot by Luke Nugent) is a tribute to African culture. It represents beauty and strength, which is usually difficult to capture.

I got this far and I have to say I don't see why they all had to have such psycho contacts, or why so many were practically naked. I thought this was a hair exhibition... As for the hairstyles, most of them are very artsy and cool, some seem dangerously flammable :D The white markings on the faces/skin are very beautiful, maybe the high point for me. This one I'm commenting on is very freaky though, especially the metal links in the hair. Like a female version of Data and that's where you peel the android's skin off to get to the circutry :D

Going to agree with everyone else who didn't appreciate the contacts. LOVED the hairstyles, but the contacts were a distracting, instead of supporting, feature.

I agree on the photoshop, it's way too much. The models look amazing and they are probably gorgeous without all that retouching.

OMG She is beautiful! Interesting how futuristic the hair seems though it comes from a traditional culture. My parents are always telling me to speak my native tongue of Tamil often, as it is important to keep one's roots.

Why would you even consider doing this with your hair. If you have enough time to do all this, then go read a book or do the laundry.

Magnificent hairstyles but the lenses are not necessary they just make the models look frightening. The body art is good but u get easily distracted.

Btw I am well aware of existence of black ppl with bright eyes or blonde hair. If this was the case here it might be interesting.

why is everyone focuses on the contact lenses as being unnatural?!? seriously? have you never seen a black person with green and blue eyes? (google it, and for the other ignorants: there are even blond black people) Besides the point of Art is not to comfort you about your vision of the world, but to trigger you and make you visualise smth else. The artist is very talented and so is the photograph. these pictures are beautiful and each holds so many details to study from the Masai jewellery to the body paint. Good work.

Finally a person that has knowledge of Black people with Beautiful green, Sea and sky blue , and even cat gold eyes. I love the really black eyes also. I was born with red hair and pail (C) skin with dark brown eyes. phew y. Nothing here for you to see. LOL

Um...but this is their own culture,these women are of african heritage so it isn't cultural appropriation, this was done for an awards show as a tribute to african culture.A tribute is used to show respect fyi
