“This Is Why Everyone Looks The Same”: People Slam This Nurse Injector For Giving Natalia Dyer A Face Transformation

Fans of Natalia Dyer, who plays Nancy Wheeler in the Netflix series Stranger Things, were “disgusted” after TikTok user Miranda Wilson posted a video pointing out what she perceived as flaws in Natalia’s face.

Miranda, who works as an aesthetic nurse practitioner, used a photo of the 27-year-old actress with arrows pointing to areas where she could get lip filler, botox, and a brow lift.

The nurse said she would have worked on Natalia’s masseter muscles to slim the face and even her chin to make her face more of a heart shape.

At the end of the clip, Miranda also included an edited photo of what Natalia would look like after the procedures.

As a board-certified facial plastic surgeon, Dr. Steven Pearlman was one of the people who questioned the intent of this viral video.

“If someone wants to alter their looks, their face or their image, then as a facial plastic surgeon, I’m all for it. But it is not up to us to determine and promote our skills by demeaning the looks of anyone— celebrity or not,” he told USA Today.

Nowadays, there seems to be a popular blueprint for beauty: in order to be considered attractive, you need plump lips, a slim jawline, and a button nose. It’s a look that not many naturally possess, and one that encourages young girls and women to seek out cosmetic procedures.

However, Pearlman highlighted that the goal of cosmetic surgery should not be to make everyone look the same. Rather, it should be about embracing and enhancing the features that make us unique and beautiful.

Speaking to the same publisher about the impossible beauty standard, Elizabeth Daniels, who is an associate professor of Developmental Psychology at the University of Colorado Colorado Springs, explained that, “there’s this narrow ideal that gets rid of individuality. But beauty is individuality, and this [TikTok] video is almost trying to make [Dyer] homogenous with this idea of perfection.”

“Our features are individual. They’re unique. And that is beautiful. Why are we trying to wipe that away and create this standard to measure everybody against it?”

Despite the video being taken down, it can still be found on Twitter

Research has shown that an emphasis on youth and slimness can contribute to disordered eating, depression, low self-esteem, suicidal thoughts, and self-hatred.

Experts fear that platforms like TikTok are amplifying this risk for young, impressionable girls. Aside from Wilson, numerous plastic surgeons, nurse practitioners, and injectors have gone viral for sensationalizing botox and fillers by making unnecessary comments about celebrities’ appearances— which Pearlman describes as a form of “entertainment, not education.”

“Tagging and denigrating someone just because they are a celebrity is an easy way to get visibility. Unfortunately, the way physicians and nurse injectors get visibility these days is too often from sensationalism on social media,” Pearlman said.

After facing major backlash, the beautician took it to TikTok to “clear the air” and apologize

I wonder how this beautician would react to, say, a therapist publicly suggesting ways to deal with the reasons that caused her to change her own appearance? I guess she wouldn't like it because it is: a) totally uncalled for, b) potentially harming for self-esteem, c) unsafe, since it is a medical recommendation not based on proper examination of the patient in person.

Good point. That sort of "distance diagnosis" goes against the professional ethics of the mental health community. It seems to me that this sort of thing should also be against the code of ethics of the Cosmetic and cosmetic medical industry. Assuming they have any.

If you check out the photos of the OP at the end, her behavior makes more sense. She had a square chin and defined jaw and apparently didn't like her face because she modified it into an oval. Personally I think she traded down, but her body her choice. Still gross that she thinks everyone else with jaws should do the same thing though. Especially when she says that Dyer's jaw makes her look thick - Dyer is so thin her bones stick out, which is why you can see her jaw so well.

Videos like this can only cause issues to all women who might feel insecure. It shows them that even famous people should be "corrected". This is horrible and unnecessary. Natalia Dyer is a beautiful woman and doesn't need this type of "advice" or videos about her appearance. Also, the "apology" video didn't sound like an apology, more like an excuse. I hope she won't make any more harmful videos like this.

First of all, lady, keep your preference to yourself, or if you have to express it, use yourself as an example or get the consent before using others as examples. Actually you know what? That’s all i have to say, period. I don’t even feel the need to say anymore. This is messed up and sad I’m so many ways. But if a "normal" person would feel uncomfortable with this unsolicited opinion why wouldn't an actor? They're real people too.

This beautician had a strong jawline herself, perhaps she was transferring her dislike of this feature onto the young actress. It's perfectly fine to change something about yourself if you want to, but don't assume other people will "look better" through various aesthetic procedures. Some people like prominent physical characteristics.

Dangit. Her nose, chin and jaw line made her a very unique beauty. But I guess if she wanted the change and had the money it's her body and her choice. To bash the surgeon though is just wrong. I hope it wasn't "society" that made her change though that would be sad but then again it's none of my business. She's still great at her craft no matter how she looks.

Dude..... This is not okay at all. Natalia is gorgeous as is. Why would anyone want to change her face?? This lady is just crazy about plastic surgery and is just trying to find ways to push it off on everyone else. Trying to say, "Hey! This is how you can change yourself!" That is what is wrong with everyone. They keep finding ways to alter themselves instead of being happy with themselves. Granted, I have nothing against body modification. I have piercings and tattoos. But going so far as recommending someone altering their whole face to make them look like someone else?? That is too much.

Doesn't matter her intention, you insulted someone and should just leave it at that. And you turned someone who is already gorgeous into some kind of f****d up bratz doll because you think eveyrone should look like that? Maybe seek some mental help on body image issues before trying to tell someone who is beautiful they need to look like an anime character.

Sandra Bullock has significant jawbones. She's been a knockout her whole life. This woman would have ruined her face. It's so rude to have someone reshape you to fit their own standard of beauty, let people be themselves and appreciate them for it!

She looks amazing how she is, it's saddening people judge others like this. Someone wrote that they turned Nancy's face into Eddie munson's guitar pick and I'M D Y I N G 🤣🤣🤣

Imo she is very pretty already. Less so in the "after" version. And, as others have said already, this is just rude.

Why is this woman trying to look like Kim Kardashian. And saying I'm sorry YOU feel that way... is not an apology.

I don't think people are more beautiful when they are made to look like the average influencer. That beautician didn't even improve her own face for the better so there's the proof right there. I'm so sad that people get rid of their unique and/or ethnic features.

First of all, lady, keep your preference to yourself, or if you have to express it, use yourself as an example or get the consent before using others as examples. Actually you know what? That’s all i have to say, period. I don’t even feel the need to say anymore. This is messed up and sad I’m so many ways. Remember the old saying - ignore what others say about you, or you’ll be their slave.

She's just much more forgettable and nondistinctive in the after pic! I agree it would be such a disappointing transformation. I'm glad OP feels more confident with herself after her own surgery. But if a "normal" person would feel uncomfortable with this unsolicited opinion why wouldn't an actor? They're real people too.

Natalie is what? One half a mm outside of perfectly conventional beauty? JM&J? I ABSOLUTELY prefer a face that has something unique about it. To me it is often the difference between "Good-looking" and "ATTRACTIVE." To be clear, the latter is better.

This beautician had a strong jawline herself, perhaps she was transferring her dislike of this feature onto the young actress. It's perfectly fine to change something about yourself if you want to, but don't assume other people will "look better" through various aesthetic procedures. Some people like prominent physical characteristics.

Seriously? I have that "heart shape" face she's talking about. Also some plumpness in my lips. I'm butt ugly, asf lmao so clearly, that's not what defines beauty, cuz this girl is so cute 😩

That squared jaw makes her look determined and fierce. It's exactly the look of a woman who would shoot the bad guy with a gun she took off the body of a different bad guy while being willing to walk into hell and fight against flying monsters. It suits her.

Whats weird is that I keep trying to find makeup techniques to make my jaw look more like the first pic....(btw im not just trying to copy this actress. I have no clue who she is beyond this post, thats just a face shape i like) the op did do a good job on her own transformation though, her plastic surgery looks a lot better than her photoshop

This is just morally wrong to me and hell, she didn't even make any good changes... like if Natalie had asked her outright for her "suggestions," this would be a wildly disappointing outcome. She is STUNNING without any of these changes. Totally unwarranted, uncalled for, and unamusing.

I mean I guess since she opened herself up to it, we can all comment on how badly she needed to change her face. Why can't we figure out how to change disgusting personalities? I think that would be far more useful than changing people who look unique, great, whatever, cuz we need to get rid of personalities like this "injector."
