The Opposite Of Design Fails: 50 Of The Most Brilliant Design Ideas That People Have Ever Shared In This Online Group (New Pics)
Over the years, we at Bored Panda have released quite a few pieces on subpar design. And while these publications are incredibly fun to prepare and scroll through (just take a look at this one), we need to balance them out a little. After all, not every designer is an incompetent 3-year-old. Some of them are 4... light-years ahead of the competition.
There's a subreddit that features high-quality images of interesting designs, including architectural, graphic, industrial, furniture, and product design, and even though we already covered it once, there are so many gems on it, we need to do a follow-up. From a restaurant half-sunken into the sea to a suitcase that can measure its own weight, continue scrolling and check out the best that human ingenuity has to offer.

We, regular users, usually see just the finished product. But there's so much more that goes into actually creating them. To learn more about design, we contacted Nicole Phillips, who has been working in the design industry since 2005 and has a background in fine arts and advertising. Phillips specializes in logo design, branding, and package design for food & beverage, beauty, health, and interior design clients, and for each project, her work is unique and never linear.
"The design process requires research, experimentation, and even a bit of psychology," Phillips told Bored Panda. "When I feel frustrated with the process, I remind myself to take a step back, have fun and play. It's those moments of play and experimentation that usually create the best results, but it's those hours of research that help build the foundation for the final result."
"My clients are not paying me for my time, they are paying me for my many years of experience, so if I am able to complete the design process in 5 hours rather than 5 weeks, this is a sign of my years of experience and knowledge, this is valuable," she added.

Its becoming a huge problem in the UK (thought we'd cured it with the 'Keep Britain Tidy' campaign in the 80s and 90s). Its been mentioned on here before, people who litter are generally awful people in every other way.
People who litter are pure scum. Fly-tipping is equally bad especially when you can drive to the recycling dump (UK) for free.
To see young ones litter, is enough, to see adults litter, makes me livid !!!

Side note about littering: if you see something, pick it up if you can. Even if you didnt drop it. We've all accidentally littered before (recipt getting sucked out the car window, wrapper falling out of a pocket that you meant to throw away, windy days in general), so in a way, picking up something else makes up for our own accidents.

In 1974 grandparents took me to Canada, my grandfather asked me to find one single piece of litter on the roads we traveled, n I couldn't find one. So clean!

People used to use my parents property as a garage dump every time they drove by. (Lived out in the country) we should have gone ahead with putting up a sign.
I remember as a kid (many moons ago....) it was common to see people throw their trash out of their car windows. It is disgusting to think about. But a few weeks ago I was shocked when I was driving behind a car and they did exactly that. Fulls bags of fast food trash and paper plates came flying out of their car and at my windshield! I was on the friggin freeway!
I try my best to never litter. Maybe a banana peel. After all they are biodegradable.
I'm not so much concerned about the biodegradable items. The paper and cigarette butt. But the rest I hate it.

We should have ads like this in all of the US. I see trash all over the place here in TN. This may help to put an end to trashing any of the United States. I, myself, don't litter (I don't even throw my bubble gum out of my window). I keep a grocery bag in my car for trash and when it gets full, I throw it into a trash can either at a store that I stop at or at a gas station. I hate people who litter. It just shows how lazy most people are and to quote one of my favorite Looney Toons characters "You're despicable!".
I know, I hate traveling around and seeing trash everywhere. Plastic bags in trees is Really ugly.
Why not do this and fine the culprit tremendously plus community service and say thank you for your contribution? We need more people like you. Easy money and excellent clean-up, if you demand it.

This could've been handled a different way without degrading pigs (like fat shaming) kindness goes a long way, why not: "thank you for bending over to pick up litter" or "thank you for caring about the great city you live in" or "collect it in a paper bag and discard it at the closest trash bin"....why use insults for attempting to make the world more beautiful? Just do it...like Nike says.
Love the ad but please stop saying pigs as an insult. Pigs are sweet, smart and like to be clean so that’s not even accurate.
I wonder which is better - put more trash cans, to encourage people to throw their trash in them, or put less trash cans, to encourage people to be more conscious about their trash (like in Japan).

Yes, but again. For most places I've lived either had overfilled public trash can or they simply were non-existant. Still yes, because you could keep it in your pockets till you find a proper disposal point.
Littering is a MASSIVE pet peeve of mine. If you do it, your a fn self centered pos.
But...but... the empty wrapper is so heavy... you can't expect them to carry it to the corner bin or possibly tuck it in a pocket and take it home. Nope...the world is there garbage can, so it seems. I don't know how these numbers were arrived at, but I read that a cigarette butt can take from 5 to 500 years to break down. Put that in your pipe and smoke it 😡
We could teach our children not to litter. Have them pick up trash when you see it. School project to bring in the litter, reward or prize for most per week and semester. So many ways to teach our children to give a crap
While these are very clever, it wouldn't stop people littering because it's attacking them and making them want to defend themselves. However, if the idea is for people that do use litter bins to feel smug, then job well done. It depends on what the council want to prioritise spending money on.
I love these because, although we will all accidentally litter at some point, we have the choice to do it right the rest of the time

Theres a faucet at the Cheyenne mountain zoo hippo and penguin exhibit restrooms that are three in one, it's a horizontal faucet, one part dispenses water, the middle part dispenses soap, and the other is air dry
I saw quite a few 2 in 1 recently in the airport, shaped a bit like airplane: middle part provides water, and the side parts work as air dry. There is no rounded plane shapes, simply the style (middle tube, and two tubes to the side from the middle of water one)

Why did jesus supposedly heal some lepers in the stories, but he didn't cure the disease leprosy itself? Some people still suffer with leprosy to this day. Was he incompetent? Evil? Just wants certain people to suffer? Science has largely cured the disease leprosy. Thank scientists! Can you name a disease god has cured? Science has actually cured a number of diseases. Do you have any evidence that any gods even exist? How is jesus god's only son? Aren't we all supposedly created in god's image? Didn't god create Adam and Eve?
